@spendius,
Somehow I don't feel that you and I are on the same wavelength where football is concerned. To me it's a passion - I love the game, and I love my football team.

Why on earth would I want to gamble on the outcome of a football match? I want Newcastle to win, but if they don't - well, I'm not going to stop supporting them.

Pay attention, Spendius - I didn't say the amount footballers were paid was obscene. I said that I felt the amount owners of teams pay for players was obscene. For obvious reasons.

What on earth has that got to do with anything? A childish gibe, Spendius. I would have expected more from you.

@vonny,

Why do you bump posts? Surely "New Posts" placing is not relevant if you are interested in particular threads?
I just go to "My Posts", see what's new. And if the only new post is a "bump", well, imagine my disappointment.

What about this Evans character, the MP? Accused of raping males? He looks such a wimpy guy, too. More to this than meets the eye, I feel. Maybe it's a blackmail attempt gone wrong.
Or maybe one of the blokes thought he was the "special one". Hell hath no fury.

Neither is that obscene. It's an investment. Maybe it pays and maybe it doesn't.

People don't relocate who don't find where they are to be intolerable. That's all I meant in relation to loyalty. Passionate supporters are in St. James's Park every home game and the head-bangers travel to away games as well. It is the feet and not the mouth for passion assessment.

I think that another portion entirely of the anatomy is involved.

@McTag,
He was already out as gay, so if it's blackmail it's got to be something a bit extreme.

@spendius,
I'm not going to indulge in a petty squable, Spendius. Suffice it to say, I had hoped that someone with a good knowledge of football might give me the benefit of sharing in an intelligent discussion on a game I love. Allow me to learn more about it, perhaps. Not get into a silly exchange that achieves nothing! Think before you speak, Spendius. I can't walk - remember! I am confined to a wheelchair. Therefore, implying that I ought to travel to football matches - and, indeed, saying

is hurtful and insensitive.

So sorry you are disappointed, McTag. I bump to turn the page - sometimes, when I post on various threads, the penultimate post doesn't show up until the final post is shown - so I bump. Okay!

Not "Okay". Bumping is bad forum etiquette and will get you a bad reputation and irritate other users, as you are discovering. This is not your own personal forum.

I apologised - how many times do I have to do that? Sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry - okay?
I bump, obviously incorrectly, in order to turn the page and NOT interfere with another post that may already be there on the same subject. I thought that I was being polite. Obviously this is a very bad tempered thread to be on and I'm not the person to be on it. Shan't post again.

@vonny,
I'm sorry vonny. I didn't know you are confined to a wheelchair.

I thought you to be an "up-and-at-em" Geordie gal.

I humbly beg your pardon.

What do you want to know about football?

@contrex,
Bumping doesn't irritate me Contrex. As far as I can see the thread is stuck without bumping in some form or other.

Don't take things too much to heart, Vonny. Worse things happen at sea. You should see the abuse I get. Hold your dominion.

I did think it was called something else so I checked Wiki before that post was submitted and it gave St James's.

Guess I am a bit over-sensitive at the moment. Recovering from a nasty little operation on my face at the moment - feeling pretty weak and feeble!

@vonny,
I knew you'd been in the wars pet, but I didn't know you were in a wheelchair. Hope you're feeling better soon. Spendi's more blunt than insensitive.

This is the British thread, so it's bound to be bad tempered, especially if we don't get a cuppa.
