@izzythepush,
I've met women who would have been the first to suggest it in the same circumstances.

I've never liked Chris Huhne, but after listening to the dramatisation of the phone calls betweem him and Vicky Pryce, I actually felt sorry for him. She didn't sound at all like someone who could easily be pressurised.

I've come to the conclusion that even though Huhne faces prison, his career is in tatters, and his reputation is in the mud, it's a small price to pay to see the back of her.

@izzythepush,
As far as women are concerned the guy was doomed from the start. There's nothing like high-flying women at wringing necks.

Remember Richard Ingrams.

@spendius,
After one of the talking heads shows about Stafford Hospital (It wasn't me/us) on Sky News the first ad to come up said that 30,000 children die needlessly every day.

@spendius,

This NHS report: "appalling" practices, no doubt, and not confined to one hospital or area only.

It occurred to me that one of the commonest perks in the remuneration package of top management is private healthcare insurance.
Not only for the individual, but for his family too.
So why should these people be too concerned about what happens in NHS hospitals? They are for the "others".

@izzythepush,
Chris Huhne has apparently publicly stated he wishes he could turn back the clock.

isn't one motoring offence enough?

@Berty McJock,
I'm worried. It turns out that the new Governor of the Bank of England arises from the fester pit in Ottawa in time to go for 6 a.m. mini-marathons at minus 20. Probably with a cold shower to follow. Whether he carries a haversack full of bricks we were not told.

I don't think Cromwell was as ascetic as that.

Up two three four.

I see there's a good job going in Rome, for an elderly male.

Can I rely on your votes and endorsements?

i wonder what he's done. i mean the first pope in about 400 years to retire doesn't do so without good reason. they say it's parkinsons, but if i remember rightly john paul II had that didn't he?

@ossobuco,

Hey, an advertisement for something called Muslim Matrimonials appeared at the bottom of my A2K screen, with pictures of dusky temptresses, suitably veiled.

No sooner do I announce my candidature for Pope, than Satan begins testing me.

It must be a sign.

Well - the ads following your post were for health insurance, knee surgery, a rhinoplasty (nose job) and eyelid surgery....wonder what they're trying to tell us???
