@Walter Hinteler,
Exactly!

I found the pre-made sandwiches at Tesco were an ideal lunch for a wandering traveller. Should I have gone to Waitrose?

@margo,
I don't feel I can say I've been to England since I've only been in Heathrow's international waiting room for, yes, five hours and then off to the sky again.

You know I'll want to know about your trip Margo. If we don't talk in the meantime, have a terrific time and save some stories.

@McTag,
Not here, Southampton is very hilly. We had all our rain yesterday, it's been a bit showery today.

@spendius,

I'm not disputing the second bit, which is a delight.

Apparently the patrician in question was going from an expensive restaurant to the Carlton Club...on a bicycle?

What a twat. That's as bad as Cameron seen cycling to work but with his limo following behind.

@spendius,
You need to realise Mac that when a politician appears in public with his wife you are looking at the bint he's shagging. You are being invited to imagine the event/s.

SuperMac never appeared in public holding his wife's hand. Mrs Wilson wrote poetry. Heath had no wife. It was Jimmy ******* Carter who started all that sort of nonsense. As if Nero hadn't taught him a damn thing. Atlee's wife drove him around.

@Dorothy Parker,

It's important if City win, and not important if they lose.

Simples.

All this media circus around Megan Stammers.

What makes me sad is, the poor girl will have her life ruined, at least for several months and years to come, while the teacher will probably get an agent and make money. No teaching job any more though, eh.

Which leads on to good old British hypocrisy. Every year teenage girls of mainly Pakistani origin go missing from school and are married abroad. No media outrage there, and the schools and other authorities do little about it.
I say, are they British or are they not? If they are, then they should not be able to break British law with impunity.

@McTag,
The law sees this girl as a victim - if she had appeared in court this week as a victim or as a witness the chairman would have made an order under the Children and Young Persons' Act prohibiting publication of anything that might serve to identify her. But now, her photographs are everywhere ... ...

@Walter Hinteler,
She's the envy of all the froward girls as I assume her mother intended her to be. She deprived a mathematics teacher of his wits. That's no mean feat.
