Old lady with handbag, vs. six young man with helmets and sledgehammers.

What are the odds? Place your bets now...

@McTag,
Brilliant wasn't it Mac. Study her little legs. A cheque for 10% of the value of the contents of the displays she saved is the very least she should get. And a knighthood. It's about time our Knights got their balls back.

Tory Peer says that bus-drivers and waitresses are not important people.

Blimey-truth coming back into fashion as well.

Maybe all is not lost.

Hello blighty. How are you all?
I am returning in May.

Is England doomed? My friend says yes but I'm not convinced.
I don't want to have to be a teacher instead of a lecturer Sad

@The Pentacle Queen,
I would rather you teach me Queenie than lecture me.

How can England be doomed? It has more fertile land than it knows what to do with, it has a large moat full of fish and the odd Trident submarine and coal, oil and gas which it is saving whilst the cheap stuff is available. It also has the English Rose. And a police force which patrols unarmed.

And it's language and history are the envy of the world which pays out good money to be shown over them.

Yo PQ.

Did Honkers not measure up, or did you always plan to come back then?

Or did you drink too much, and they threw you out?

Just wondering.

Have they built something on Victoria Peak that looks like a skate board ramp ? That wasnt there when I was there. I caught a glimpse in a show on China.

Karl-Theodor Maria Nicolaus Johann Jacob Philipp Franz Joseph Sylvester, Freiherr von und zu Guttenberg

He's a man in the news.

Or is it a football team?

@McTag,

I never forget the day I first meet the great Lobachevsky.
In one word he told me secret of success in mathematics:
Plagiarize!

Plagiarize,
Let no one else's work evade your eyes,
Remember why the good lord made your eyes,
So don't shade your eyes,
But plagiarize, plagiarize, plagiarize -
Only be sure always to call it please 'research'.

..................

I have a friend in Minsk,
Who has a friend in Pinsk,
Whose friend in Omsk
Has friend in Tomsk
With friend in Akmolinsk.
His friend in Alexandrovsk
Has friend in Petropavlovsk,
Whose friend somehow
Is solving now
The problem in Dnepropetrovsk.

And when his work is done -
Ha ha! - begins the fun.
From Dnepropetrovsk
To Petropavlovsk,
By way of Iliysk,
And Novorossiysk,
To Alexandrovsk to Akmolinsk
To Tomsk to Omsk
To Pinsk to Minsk
To me the news will run,
Yes, to me the news will run!

And then I write
By morning, night,
And afternoon,
And pretty soon
My name in Dnepropetrovsk is cursed,
When he finds out I publish first!

And who made me a big success
And brought me wealth and fame?
Nicolai Ivanovich Lobachevsky is his name.
Hi!
Nicolai ivanovich lobach -

@spendius,

I saw only the highlights on the news, this morning.

Last night, from the Internet, I learned that ManU were all over them in the first half, and a goal up.

And I thought, oh flick.

So imagine my delight when I saw the score this morning. And Fergie is upset about the referee, which makes it even better, when he declined to condemn Rooney's thuggery on Saturday. Rooney should have got a five-match ban for that. Imagine if Joey Barton or Lee Bowyer had done that to one of his players.

@McTag,
I saw the game Mac. I didn't think they were "all over them" at at anytime.

It's great when Fergie gets mad and does the "trying to take off" movement. He needs a Court Jester as much as Cameron does.

It was a pretty good game though.

@spendius,

Rangers v. Celtic is always good for a bit of controversy....such as we saw in the fight, sorry football match, last night.

Neil Lennon (Celtic manager) is for the high jump, along with a few Rangers players. The SFA will have to come down hard on them now. These fans don't need inciting to resentment and violence, they breed them that way.
A busy night for the police, and the hospitals.

@McTag,

Another mean-spirited, violent Jock, Sir Alex Ferguson, will apparently now have to answer to the FA about his remarks about the referee in the Chelsea game.

Most unsporting, I thought. But typical. He's a git. And a very slovenly speaker.

@McTag,
Right here.

It's all part of the entertainment. I think people get bored with gentlemen. I know I do. It must be a lot worse for women.

Let's hope the scousers stuff 'em this weekend. 1-0 would be best on a disputed penalty which the slow-mo showed to be a blatant dive.

@spendius,
It's odd that with Mr Assange's appeal coming up there should suddenly be two top of the ratings soaps doing the rape story again. One is of rape and the other attempted rape. Both show how good even repertory actresses can justify the allegation and we know for sure that neither woman playing the part has either been raped or an attempt made on her innocence which was not justified by her actions and which was desisted with as soon as she objected.

Bit of a coincidence don't you think? After all, the Grauniad will have social links with both TV companies I should think. Perhaps more deep seated ones. I don't know. I'm only speculating. It's just a hypothesis.
