@smorgs,
What did she mean by "do you want half a bounty". It's oddly ambiguous and slightly suggestive.
Half a bounty chocolate bar - hello?
You know... taste of paradise... coconutty...
Comes in two sections for sharing with a mate - I was trying to be managerial.
You're too posh!

@smorgs,
I didn't know they came in two sections. I never eat coconut. It has the highest level of saturated fat of any fruit or veg.
Which Corrie actress is most like Eunice?
@smorgs,
you're not one of those bouncy morning people are you?
it's mighty early in merry old...
(or were you up late with spendi watching american footie?)
I am very bouncy in the mornings!
I'm bouncy in general.
I'm up early to go down pit (Jobcentre).
Going to bounce into the shower now.
laters.

Nice Tigger!
Anyway, I need some man help with a DIY thingy.
The coily tube that goes into my shower head is leaking - so some of the water comes out of where it's screws in the head, thereby reducing the stregnth of the water that cascades over my generous body.
It's the thread, I think, when I take it apart and try and screw it back on, it doesn't go the whole way in (you can see some thread left). There is a washer in there, I bought a new one, but it didn't work. What do I do now?
* Shall I buy a new shower head?
* Shall I buy a new coily thing - if so, are they standard or do I have to measure the circumference?
* If I have to buy a new coily thing, is it straightforward to replace if I take the shower box front off? Will I need any specialist tools like a spanner?
* Will I electrocute myself?
Glad of any help.

Here's your answer Rockie--

Ladies don't do that when they've been up late with me. They crawl out of bed around 4pm with matchsticks holding their eyelids open.

Wink fetchingly at a plumber.
@smorgs,
try teflon tape.
Its a thin tape that you wind around the male thread then screw the thread back into its place. three or four layers may be required.
you can get it at most hardware stores.
the pink stuff is better than the white stuff.
use two spanners to tighten the joint up. one on the male side and one on the female side but dont over tighten just very firm should be enough.
@spendius,
That's cos they're bored spendy chuck!
Personally, I find good sex energising, don't you?

@dadpad,
Is it an Aussie thing DP?
Will I be able to buy it in UK?
Thanks for that.

Bugger!
I missed the bit about spanners! Will I have to buy 2?
I've got strong arms - will I be able to tighten it enough?
x
@smorgs,
we have it over here as well.
my guess is the auzzies think they invented it.
you guys prolly call it something different though.
plumbers putty strip or something over complicated like that...
two spanners works best.
Bugger!
Now I've got to go to B & Q and look at spanners!
Bet it'll be dead expensive to buy 2...
Do they do pink ones?

Thread seal tape — commonly known as "Teflon tape", "PTFE tape", "tape dope", or "plumber's tape" — is a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film cut to specified widths for use in sealing pipe threads.
Thread seal tape is most commonly a white film (the natural color of PTFE) and is used in plumbing applications, but it is also available in various colors. While pigmented thread seal tape is not materially different from the natural white tape, it is often used to correspond to color coded pipelines ((US, Canada, Australia & New Zealand) yellow for natural gas, green for oxygen, etc.). These color-codes for thread sealing tape were introduced by Bill Bentley of Unasco Pty Ltd in the 1970s. In the UK, tape is used from coloured reels, e.g. yellow reels for gas, green for potable water.
You wil not beable to tighten it enough by hand. You wil definitly need at least one spanner. I'm not sure of the set up. if the female side is set firmly into its housing you may bea able to get it tight enough but it is usual to use two spanners or one spanner and a pair of pliers/multigrips. pliers and grips are likely to damage pipework.
can you ask a neighbour for a loaner?

I think it was invented for NASA in order to seal spacecraft by (prolly) 3M
