Report back on Wales...

I'm heading in that general direction later in the year and I'm having some problems deciding where to go! (usually someone is eager to tell me! Confused )

@plainoldme,
Well, I'd thought that Proto-Celtic, what was spoken e.g. in the Halstatt culture, was developed more or less at the same time as was Italic, but separately. In the language tree ...

I certainly might have been wrong.

@plainoldme,

Don't take it personally, Spendy insults everybody.

Your daughter sounds nice.

Contador is Spanish and originates from Latin ('contra'). - Do you think that the Celtic language(s) had an influence on Latin?
And from where did latin get it ? Perhaps from the Aryan root language....a common ancestor between Latin and Celt.

I didn't insult your daughter. Nor would I ever think of doing. I merely pointed out that "working in publishing" didn't mean much. That's a fact.

You certainly are eager to take offence POM.

Certainly. And the root language got it from Adam, when he talked with Eve about the apple ...

@Walter Hinteler,
That's what I said: the Italic and the Celtic group were more or less parallel but . . . there are no inscriptions (as I remember) from Halstatt so we can not say with assurance what language(s) they spoke.

@Walter Hinteler,
OK, Walter, I did say it differently. My apologies. I sometimes have trouble with that tree business when it comes to languages.

@spendius,
It was bi-lingual publishing, Spanish and English. She left to return to teaching because she hated the business end of things and the publishing house was run by Scientologists.

@smorgs,
"Washing" eh. That's a cute euphemism for restoring to pristine order that which comes out of suitcases when a lady unpacks after a holiday which doesn't involve the risk of a search by officers of the state.

I knew a lady who just opened her suitcase in front of the washing machine and the stuff climbed in.

Why do American senators think they can require British politicians to come and be questioned in their hearing? And then accuse them of dodging the issue when they decline?
Who do these deluded asses think they are?

Got to go to Probate Court with my dearest Mother, God help me, this afternoon. Not been to anything like that before, Mum asked me if she should 'dress up', I told her as she was from Manchester, she should wear her trakkies, it's only court, like going to the shops for us Mancs, Crown Court is like going to Big Tesco instead of Spar.

Has anyone ever filled in Probate forms? They are spectacularly difficult and 'wordy', no crystal mark for them.

Laters.
