@dadpad,

The rabbit's foot represents bad luck for the rabbit.
Tarah is gone again.
Cold here today.
I hate Tony of Iraq. I can't think of a bad enough name for him. O, for the eloquence of a Spendy.

@margo,
I think we will be crying Wednesday night if the Proteas repeat their Perth performance of the first Test. 314 runs to get is a big task, and with the wicket showing signs of wear it should be a fascinating final day. Come on Aussie, come on.

@Dutchy,
It's been a bit of a farce Dutch. Three lbws which were plumb were given not out and one was given out which wasn't out. One after another. Then Hayden was plumb out and not given. Then Boucher appealed Kadich when the bowler didn't because he wanted the slow scorer kept out there. How did cracks appear for the SA batting and then vanish when the Aussies batted.

All teams which have won the series lose concentration. Ponting was a whisker from a king pair.

Poor crowd too.

McTag, Walter, george, spendi et al

Rather late I know but personal matters intervened. To all (particularly to Fionna though) the very best wishes in this, our year of liberty here in the republic of bananas.

@blatham,
I assumed Bernie that "personal matters" had caused you to not take part on this site as you used to do. It would be difficult to imagine any other possibility.

Any chance of an explanation. We are all interested in things we don't already know. That's why we are members of A2K.

Welcome back Bernie.

As you can see, Spendi has been unusually testy lately. Perhaps it's the cold weather in Europe (see Walter's report above).

Why all this slavish obeisance to Fiona? She's not really that tough!

We got a little rain down here from Oregon yeaterday, but not enough. Grey skies this morning, so we may see more. 17 deg C.

@McTag,
I'm back again now, McTag. It was weird that for a few months I've not received notifications of topic updates and yet in the last few days they've been emailed to me. Anyone else had that?

@georgeob1,
I presume that Fiona is Lola.

I saw Cavalleria Rusticana the other day on Sky Arts, a must have channel in any intelligent TV package, and a Lola caused a fair degree of havoc.

Perhaps it is right that Lolas should be pampered.

No, Spendi, they are two different, however sweet, ladies.

@Francis,
But - like some others - they are members of the AES (Association des Épouses Supérieures) Wink
(Mrs Walter being a CEO there as well.)

I have to make personal survey on that, Walter.

I believe I know precisely what your tastes are in this respect, Spendi.

But, as I'm very shy on the topic, I will not elaborate.

You mean, I presume, that evolution would not waste energy on sweetness unless being desirous of being eaten was an advantage.

I would love to have Sky Arts but I'm on a cable deal which would mean I would be paying top whack if I got the package which includes that. So I've been wrestling with my frugality instinct.
Plenty good music on that, which the Guardian taunts me with each day.
No jokes about Scotchmen with short arms and deep pockets please, I'm a pensioner.

Spendy, Fiona is here in Blighty and Lola is in Oregon with Bernie. Okay?
