Jesus don't let's start discussing American politics here. There are dozens of other threads going on that.

My view on politicians is the same as the guy who said that anyone wanting to put himself up for public office, to be in control of other people, should be automatically disqualified. Most of them are deeply dodgy.

Ken Livingston or Boris Johnson for London's Mayor?

Shame Steve can't hear this.

It features a song by Frankie Vaughan about a little place apparently called...

STACKPORT

'Stockport'
by Frankie Vaughan

arranged, produced and sung in an Ole Blue Eyes ("New York New York") big band swing stylee...

I've travelled up and down this country,
From the Pennines to Land's End,
But if you ask my favourite place of all,
The answer isn't hard to comprehend.

I'm going back to Stockport,
There's no where that can beat it,
That's right, I tell ye - Stockport,
Do you want me to repeat it?

Well it's S T O C K P O R T,
Stockport, Stockport,
It's the place for me.

The people seem to be so friendly,
The houses seem to say 'come in',
Somehow, well the summer smell of cotton seems
to get right inside your skin.

I'm going back to Stockport,
There's simply no where finer,
I wouldn't budge from Stockport,
For the tea in China.

Cos I'm happy there
as any cheshire cat,
Stockport, Stockport,
That's where it's at.

Stockport, I'm coming I tell ye,
There's no where that can beat it,
Stockport, do you want me to repeat it?

Come on, here we go ...
Stockport,
Stockport, Stockport,
Stockport, Stockport,
Stockport - that's the place ... for me.

Okay I'm waiting for the Polish plasterer to come back, no he's not late yet, to do the skim coat, and meanwhile humming a song

...And the Mersey River
Kinda makes you shiver
Like the latest flivver
Just drippin' with chrome-
It's very nice, to go travellin'
But it's oh, so nice
To come home.

I booked tickets on the train for my wife and I to go to London.

Then we later found out I had booked us to go on different trains.

That has all the hallmarks of what is known in the trade as a "Freudian slip"

It's supposed to be your unconcious over-riding your superego momentarily.

Listen Izzie-- you are supposed to Google what others have thought fit to mention. Not what you have mentioned yourself.

It's good manners to have Googled beforehand your own key words.

Imagine if I referred to "whoosiedinglebottiechucklings" and admitted that I had to Google it myself to see what it meant.

It would mean that I didn't know what I was talking about.

I told you not to read my posts.

Fair dinkum - hands up - I admit that, but only about things that aren't really so important in the bigger picture - so tar and feather me! Does it really matter? Not to me, or I doubt to the other Brits etc on board. I'd make a great tarred chicken.

How generous.... Question: why write them?! I guess I'll choose what I do or don't read, not really what I am told to or not to read. I choose to ignore bad feeling from any individual who may be appear to be grumpy and or cantkerous on occassion - it doesn't suit me well - so if it comes my way - I'll just push a button. easy a? However, I will still bid that indvidual a good evening.

So. hey - anyone wanna give me things to think about to "make me feel a better person, a lttle more refined, better mannered, and clever" to suit this thread - well - sorry to diappoint folk - I really can't be a*sed at this time of the morning, or anytime. And actually, I already posses those qualities wihout approval needed. I have far more important consderations in my life, like the life of my child and healing that I need to do.

also, IMO, treat someone with respect, courtesy and listen, if they should address you with respect. That's how I was brought up. Should anyone choose to be rude to me or personally insulting in any way- I will just ignore it, as I do from my child when he is having a paddy. His young opinions will mature in time. My family and world are more important to consider than any throw away comment to me. I have lived with that the last 11 years with my eldest son.... nothing any individual can say to me, hasn't been said already, I can assure you. I have received judgement at the highest level, my son, don't accept it from any other person.

Post away spendi - it's not a problem for me. Smile Why you choose to talk someone who, as you put it succinctly on my yabber thread as having possibly having too much nitrogen mulch to dig to my tend my veggie patch- don't get it really - feel free to to yabber with us on that thread if you so wish rather than making time making inane remarks to me. Problem sovled a? Laughing I'm a genuine person not here to impress anyone - just to distract me from other things - and to talk to world full of folk who I have found kind and supportive - and most importantly to have a laugh with.

Don't do veggie patches btw - but if I do (which will be never) I will ably have plenty of nitrogen rich mulch in your opnion and I will consder you advice - I do talk cr*p.

No more to add - sleeping pills kicked in long ago - just have spinning hamsters pulling at threads in my head now.

Smorgs. girl, DP, PQ, Margo, girls, Walter Francis, Steve, Mac and OB1 and lads - look forward to bantering with you guys if that's k with you. MATHOS, I await his precence and hope to be invitied to visit his cave and recieve some banter from the boy - should he invite me. Happy Days! Very Happy
Bidding you all a good evening and a big sleep Smile Genuinely wish everyone has good weekend. Now, me U2, Hinder and Bon Jovi are going to sleep at 5am imnsomnia being me middle name.

Goodnite one and all Smile

How can you hope to sleep to U2 and Bon Jovi?

I have never heard these chaps but I'm sure they are loud and raucous.

Repeat- and some may find it strange- I have never knowingly heard a U2 track in my life. But I've heard of Bono and I know what he looks like. A bit like Elvis Costello with more of a sneer.

Oh Mac - U2, Bon Jovi and Hinder....

I will send you links - it's great music for the mood at times - just kinda sums things up. I don't know you so not sure if you will like it - but would you give it a listen and let me know what you think a? (It is a bit loud - maybe I'll send you some Aerosmith first - it's a bit softer rock

You up for having a listen to a track? Smile
