What Izzie is not a Brit, then? I find this very confusing.
Where do you hail from Izzie?

I can assure you she is English alright, hails from Devon, near Dartmoor to be exact. Read all about this courageous lady here; http://www.able2know.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=111721&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Good morning all.... to clarify

I most certainly am a Brit my dears, from the depths of Devon!

I was merely stating that perhaps I didn't wholly agree with Mr Spendius on the subject of "rating the American way".

I love the Americans and their ways - in fact my eldest child is American by birth tho we have not lived there since 1994.

I may not be as eloquent and intellectual as some..... or as sarcastic...... but I will always endeavour to stay true to me. (sorry, that means I do flatter a lot when it is warranted and I do like to laugh a lot so... take me or leave me - no worries! I do not let being British define me - I disagree with a lot of the systems in this country as they have failed my family in the worst possible way. However, I will not digress with that journey onto this thread!

So. Now that that's sorted - I will stick around and "be me", British and proud of it - but I have my own language and way of expression - so if you will, bear with me k!

Mr Mac - is it K to call you that? Hope you're day is going well.

Smorgs - a good friend of mine has told me you are a good person to banter with - I hope we can get to share a few yarns as and when you pop in.

There we go then… Izzie's on the British Board and am happy to be here! Smile

(p.s. have noticed that a friendly Koala has shown one of my threads - not really as courageous as he makes me out - (but thanku Bear) - just perhaps, a little mad - sorry folks - thatsme - I can yabber for England! (my language!) - anyone who would like to join the International Yabberfest is very much welcome aboard) Exclamation

Let's just say that a certain Aussie Marsupial Type Fella thinks the Brit Girls can hold their own on the threads....... and has told me you are certainly a good lady to share a few laughs with.... as well as speaking your Brit Girl mind Smile

Anytime you would like to share a virtual cuppa Earl Grey T or PG - give me a shout coz I'm around most of the time right now! Kettles always on!

Nice to meet you Smorgs Smile x

Izzie,
I'm no Brit, but I drop in here occasionally to escape the hype and fury of the political threads, and discover some convivial folks & chatter -- even though much of it - steeped in local lore - escapes my own understanding.

If I were better at searching out photos on the web, I'd become an habitue of Francis' intriguing "Where am I?" thread.

Walter and Francis are from the (gasp!) continent, but quite OK in spite of that.

Spendius is, in my view, a bit like a small boy who likes his mother's attention and needs his ears cleaned, but can't stand the process. He's a good fellow in spite of it.

Greetings to you.

Well, some British allowed us Europeans to join here.

.... and thanks to Francis, I just looked through the pics of the 2003 A2K'er meeting in London again ...

Back to the more serious business: I wonder, if Robinson had had yesterday to much of the very same.
Might be, the second half will be different ...

Hi georgeob1 - oh, never going to be able to write that each time - OB1 - is that k with you?

So - hey OB1 - delighted to meet you. Smile I don't do politics(ugh!) (have opinions but keep them to myself as I'm more comfortable with that).

laughing.... oooooh .... Europe.... in my book - all the same world just a little water in between - and I like to sail anywhere!

I'm sure he is and I look forward to listening to him. I do not judge anyone, lest I be judged!

Walter - we have met on a couple of threads - and am glad to see you on this one (was belated on your birthday but good wishes to you again).

Hope to meet Francis at some stage - have yet to make his acquaintance - but have seen him floating around the forum.

It's been a bit of grey rainy day here today - but at Chez Izzie all is well and the smile is shining Very Happy

Six A2Kers in that snap of Walter's, taken in a London boozer.

Happy days.

I bet not more than a handful of people here can identify them.....

Come to think of it, I haven't seen Pierre de la Cuisine for yonks.

I had a Bedouin asylum seeker the other day (from Kuwait).

He's middle aged, but had never had a job in his life! When I asked him (through an interpreter) why? He said Bedouin were not allowed to work in Kuwait!

I didn't believe him...

So I googled it...

I simply put in 'Bedouin can't work in Kuwait', and it's TRUE!

I feel really mean about not believing him now.

How come I don't know about this? I like to think I keep abreast...

Oops, sorry Izzie!

Excuse my manners...

Hi back at you.

Feel free NOT to keep your opinions to yourself. We like opinionated people on here.

I don't keep my opinions to myself, I find it's much better to vent. Opinions kept, clutter my mind. Stops me thinking about pink things and hair products.

Hey Smorgs et al

Good to see you. Don't do "pink and fluffy" either Smile

Will offer opinions - but won't do grumpy Laughing I vent elsewhere and it keeps me sane.

It's good to be here so....

I will be around Smile

Muckty!

You just ruined my serious moment!

I was being all Newsnight/Unreported World, and you just went and put tartan all over it.

The answer, to that little quip, seeing as it's A2K, is...

I expect they park them in Platt Fields Park, where the grazing is good, easy acces to water in the boating lake and a decent-sized flat area for the erection of tents.
