Musicals? What musicals? Nothing by Andrew Lloyd Webber I hope.

I liked the "That's Entertainment" MGM medley films. A bit like watching the edited highlights on a sports programme.

I hate The Wizard of Oz and I don't like The Sound of Music.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, now there was a film.

And The Producers.

Hey where's Steve? More holidays? ??

I gained two pound from yesterday, halving my net loss. Crying or Very sad

Still, nil desperandum, that there weight is coming off.

Might go to the movies tonight, The Bourne Conspiracy? or that new one The Atonement.

What I've heard: yes. (When does the summer school holiday end in Essex?)

Smorgs has given up posting for now, since nobody replies to her fragrant posts.
Lets be 'avin' yew!

Has anyone else seen that latest Bourne film? I quite liked the first two, seen on TV recently, hence my visit, but no, not this one.

I could tell you why, but my breakfast's ready (Ryvita and water)

I haven't given up!

Been in Chester with my Granddaughetr buying school shoes and looking at Roman things.

It was packed!

I want to go and see Run, Fat Boy Run! Or Knocked Up, sounds trite, but has good reviews (even by The Times) and Run, Fat Boy, looks hilarious. Do you fancy going Muckty? Atonement looks a bit depressing for me.

Now what kind of a bloody post was that, spends?

Who said this was a highbrow thread?

Who's wondering who's deserted it? Not me...

Who has deserted it? You? Well if you did, it didn't take long before you came back! Shocked (note rare use of emoticon by smorgs)

Who died and put you in charge of thread content?

Who said that posts have to be of a particular calibre?

Must I go back and find posts of yours that are less than 'highbrow' and quote them backatcha?

You're a right bloody know it all sometimes, spends...

and a snooty bugger to-boot!

Love

Not me. You said forget highbrow. I didn't say anything about forgetting lowbrow.

What do you mean by saying I have deserted the thread. It's hard to respond to a list of musicals. Especially when one of them has been explained as deriving from the Marquis de Sade without comment. What does a list of musicals do except send people to sleep.

What about what they mean? What about how they result in soaking up American cultural values which our ex-military chief has declared "intellectually bankrupt" this very day in all the headline news.

You have it the wrong way round my leetle cheeckadee.

Those two blurts are inconsistent, incoherent and downright foolish.

You must have spent too much time with men grovelling at your feet. I scoff at such nonsense. It results in intellectual bankruptcy. And that's not much use to a refined lady now is it? Slappy doo-doo notwithstanding.

Well here I am scoffing at YOU!

scoff scoff scoff, and yet more scoffing.

If my reply was 'inconsistent, incoherent and downright foolish'

Then so is yours!

Read it back - it's bollocks.

And YOU started it by getting all snooty.

And what's all that 'grovelling at your feet' bollocks?
