Yeah, some of these doctors are so cavalier about keeping patients waiting. The good news Noddy, was that if the problem were anything formidable, the doc would have acted upon it quickly.

Phoenix--

I've dealt with five doctors about my mysterious lump: An Internist, a Gastric specialist, an Oncologist, a Surgeon with a specialty in Reproductive Oncology and a Radiologist.

Four of the five have been both informative and caring.

The fifth didn't go to Med School. He was anointed by the Lord.

It's not fun having to rely on the "white Gods" as we call the MD's -
here is hoping to a fast solution for your medical health. Thank goodness your mental health is as bright as it can be.

Good luck, Noddy!

JL Nobody--

Sometimes the world is too much with us--and the world has bony elbows.

Calamity Jane--

Thanks for the compliment and the good wishes.

Yes, very bony and too much with us.
That's the challenge, I guess.

Is anyone interested in seeing a picture (a drawing) of a prostate ultrasound and biopsy? The whole procedure takes about ten minutes, and you have an urge to go to the toilet soon afterwards.

The idea of you and Eva forming a posse of Outraged Women warms the cockles of my heart and the marrow of my bones. You may use my best jawbone of an ass.

You have your surgeon's jawbone? Well then, I guess you don't need Jespah and I after all.

c.i.- I raise you one. Just yesterday, I watched a video of a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Seems that Mr. P. may be going in for one of those. I always want to know what is involved when either me or someone that I care for is having a procedure.

I have a relative who had one of those recently. He says it wasn't too bad and he's now doing fine.

Mr. Foxfyre also had his cancerous prostate removed a year and a half ago and though there's no way to sugarcoat the aftermath of that, he had minimal discomfort and is also doing fine.

I worked in hospitals for enough years to be fully aware of the Medical Deity syndrome and it sucked then and it sucks now. But medical technology can do some wonderful things and its getting better all the time. But all things have an up side and down side I guess.

I'm sorry Mr. P is going to be subjected to more invasive healing. I have a feeling that if the Medical Deities don't cure him by December, that you're going to commander a corner of a medical building and take over.

He couldn't be in better hands.

I may watch the video a few times more, and I just might takle the operation myself! Laughing

I wouldn't put it past you.

A spot of surgery would make a pleasant change from the unending round of tempting meals and sympathetic listening.

Phoenix, Thanks for sharing that film. Amazing how that surgery is performed without any "energy."

I have a doctor friend in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania who was diagnosed with cancer, and because Tanzania doesn't have the property trained doctors in their country, he flew to Bombay to have his cancer treatment (chemo).

My physician is from India, and she's one of the best I've ever had in my life. She also got some training at Stanford Hospital, and have been promoted at Kaiser to do administrative work in addition to maintaining some of her old patients. I'm lucky to be one of them. She's the one who approved my appointment with the urologist.

CI and Noddy,
So glad to hear you are recovering from your busy weekend. I've been at a conference for 4 days and haven't been able to check in until now.

Noddy, That irritates me too that the pathologist said it normally takes that long for a result. Did you also have an MRI for this lump?? Maybe they can give you an indication if it looked solid or fluid filled.

Just want you to know I'm still here and thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way.

Take care!
