My 9 year old thought all movies started out as books. She cited "Bridge to Terebithia," "Harry Potter," "Chronicles of Narnia,"and "Charlotte's Web," as examples. I said, no, some start out as screen plays. SHe asked me to name some. Um. Nope. [oops] Couldn't think of even one... "Aquamarine" started out as a book, maybe"Bring It On," began as a screenplay... Can you all come up with a list an ordinary 9 year old girl might be familiar with? TIA

Are we making exceptions for animated films? I don't think any of the big Pixar movies started as books: the Toy Story movies, A Bug's Life, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, etc.
