Potatoes-A small baked spud won't overwhelm your GI tract, and it clears away acids that can interfere with yawn-inducing tryptophan. To up the soothing effects, mash it with warm milk.

Whole-wheat bread-A slice of toast with your tea and honey will release insulin, which helps tryptophan get to your brain where it's converted to serotonin and quietly murmurs 'time to sleep.'

Most nights, before bed, I like to eat a bowl of cereal...Kelloggs Frosted Flakes, Apple Jacks or Captain Crunch. What a perfect way to end the day!

We call a snack before bedtime "Betthupferl" and that can be anything
from candy to....well, something calorie-burning. Wink

Foods like mashed potatoes or pasta alfredo (fill in your own) apparently lull, with the opposite in the morning.. protein for breakfast is smart.
No links, I'm being lazy.
