Well, there's a distinct lack of arguing going on here today, so some of us may be missing....

One would need permission, I would think. Spare but dramatic scene, isolated person contorted in defense against the elements..
Great photograph, to me, who might even like photography more than painting.

The one of the woman with the bad hair day was good too, if that was on that link. (I've been following bbc and guardian and reuters through google in recent months, forget where I see stuff.)

What's amazing, littlek? Do I have to read the entire thread to find out or will you give me a synopsis?

Is Ellpus still alive?

Lesson of the story:

Trees. They're dangerous.

Do not trust the trees.

Synopsis, Gus. The story goes like this: big winds, lots of damage, mostly by fallen trees. Many deaths, but not Ellpus.

Could someone give a somewhat technical but (from a laymans view) the origins and propogation of these storms. Is it some massive conjunction of Lows from the North sea and intersecting with Mediterranean air?

I meant the storms in N Europe. I think Im sadly informed about your drought problem in Australia Dad. Im concerned that you guys dont get enough recharge for the ag areas where irrigation is used. I imagine the groound water is being taken from a depleted storage that gets worse witheach passing week.

If you guys in NE allow us, Im sure I can get Timberlandko and our pickemups with chainsaws and woodsplitters to clean up just for the farwood. Beech aint too bad , though I likes maple because it burns softly and with a nice sizzle in the fireplace. Beech tends to pop now and then.
