Hi everybody, a friend of mine is flying to Oklahoma to study there. He is
leaving this night ( our time ) . I wonder how the weather looks like
there?, temperature etc.
He's going to study at Oklahoma State University, that would be in
Stillwater. What he is supposed to take with him as a precautionary
measures? How is life there?
Thanks everybody for any thoughts
Here's the weather forecast -

Best wishes for your friend.
What will he study?
Eva lives in Tulsa, and Joe Nation used to live there. They can probably tell you much more than I could.
Thanks ossobuco, he is going to study architecture. This would be after
English courses.
That's nice, as that is a key interest of mine.
Hey, navigator!
Your friend has chosen a great place! I love Stillwater! I lived there for six or seven years and still know people there. It's an eye-opening place, and I expect it will be even more so for someone from your country.
I live in Tulsa now, about an hour away from Stillwater. The weather is not typical right now...we're in the middle of an ice storm. Your friend will learn that Oklahoma weather has a little bit of everything. Rainy springtimes, very hot summers, gorgeous autumns, and (not-usually-this) cold winters. He will definitely see all the seasons. Stillwater is pretty breezy, too. (The wind comes off the plains.)
The town of Stillwater is an interesting mix of cowboy types and intellectuals. Because of the university, he will find people from all over the world. He will meet people with world-class reputations, but no one is at all pretentious. It's a very friendly environment.
Tell your friend to bring an open mind and a big smile. (And today, a heavy coat!) People in Stillwater will help him find whatever else he needs.
Lucky him!
cowboy types and intellectuals.
Make sure he packs a handgun of some sort .... after all, it is Oklahoma.
Has he picked out the manufactured home he will be living in?

Very informational Tico, I'm sure your post will be received in the spirit it was given.
Thanks everybody, what you said make me want to go there, but I can
go nowhere
Too bad that I can't tell him about the hand gun, because he already left.

You would fit in perfectly, Dys. You could talk to everyone there!
(I wanted to say "rednecks" instead of cowboys, but I didn't think navigator would know what that meant.)
