Sorry I'm posting about hotel advice once again. My plan is to stay is Marais and I've narrowed my search down to 4 hotels. Now I have someone telling me that I should stay in the Latin Quarter because Marais is too near the red light district.
Any input?
Yeah, I'd like to input myself into your suitcase and go too. Can I?
I was planning on packing light, plus that's a pretty long flight!
I wouldn't let something like that stop you from staying in the Marais. There's nothing forcing you to go into the red light district if you don't want to; the nicest parts of the Marais are separated enough that you won't notice the red light district if you're not specifically looking for it.
On the other hand, the Latin Quarter is a wonderful part of town as well, and more affordable.
I'd be curious which area your source had in mind. The area immediately east of the Marais is noticeably less attractive, but I wouldn't have thought to call it the red light district.
Do you think you might get mistaken for a French working girl marty?
That depends on what a French working girl looks like.
We picked Marais because we're both recently single and want to have at least one night out. I was told that this was a good area for the nice, quaint shops in the day and the fun party places at night.
