I have one in my basement, and, as a matter of fact, it is less than twenty feet from where I sit and is fired up and ready to go.
I haven't used it for a bit, having stored various household items in there, but recently I cleared it and will now start to use it on a regular basis.
What is your opinion of a sauna?
And where have you been? young man...hmmm now I have to hunt you down  missed ya ...Glad to see you back and in the swing of things  By the way I have a hot tub...the frogs are living in it now
ok now I'm running back to my thread...see ya cutie
Just got out of the sauna (it's in the back yard) to find snow flurries dusting the lawn. Didn't know we loved saunas until getting one with our last house. First thing we did here was built one in our garden shed (the fences are high; so far the neighbours aren't complaining; usually we traipse outside under cover of darkness). Now we wouldn't be without one. So -- post sauna I'm typing this while sitting at the computer in a big fluffy towel and robe, open of pore, rosy of cheek (all of them), muscles unknotted, all's right with the world. Body temp back to normal I'm off to take a shower. Fire it up for sure Gus -- if nothing else it'll help you sweat away all that retained water.
Me likey sauna!
Me likey sauna!
But me no going in sauna with Ratzenhofer!
i don't own one, but i spent a good chunk of my youth shuttling back and forth between the sauna and the pool at the Columbia U gym...
I was just checking out some of the new posts and I came across this thread.
I have no recollection of starting this damn thing.
Don't saunas get really hot or something?
I've designed a few.
Me, I'd probably just die already in one. (Where's the door latch...)
so we have a gamer joining in? Welcome, benoutwitted. Settle in...

That's what I like best about it, Chai. My husband likes to use a spray bottle full of water to get it really steamy (probably like a summer in Austin and I've seen your posts about those!). I prefer a dry sauna. Just stretch out like a lizard soaking up the sun and let the heat soak into creaky joints. Always sleep like a baby afterwards.
(We only use it in the winter when it's below freezing outside.)
All I have to do is lay on my front sidewalk in August.
I just see it as lawsuit city in a box. But - I'm not from snowland... untill this last couple of weeks.

Never drink alcohol in the sauna! People who just naturally lack balance should probably avoid them too.

See, that sounds peachy when the snow here is halfway up the parking meters!
Or those with high blood pressure or, or, or, or.
I'm not against the concept, especially in regions with vast experience.
Me, when I was a designer in southern california, had qualms.
I prefer a furo... not that I am totally up to date on those either, but so far I'm keen.

Thanks for the welcome
I just came across this thread cause we had been missing gus and his pearls of wisdom....bugger is hard to keep hold of
Those of us over here understand that he is one slippery fellow.
has anyone checked his pulse to see if his heart is still beating???? I understand being in a sauna can cause heart complications
Gus seems to be impervious. Seems.....
but he is not without wits if you search about at... length.
I suppose I should introduce myself - I'm a woman of some years.
We're not all so formidable, nor a plane of ignorance. I think it would be neat if more gamers engaged in the other forums.
