@vonny,
Gee, vonny. I can't imagine how that frog got its name.

Jewel beetle:

@Roberta,
Aldabra giant tortoises escape searing daytime heat by taking refuge in caves within the rugged coral rock of the island of Grande Terre, Seychelles.

@ossobuco,
osso, You know that it makes me nervous when you don't call me Robbie. Is everything OK?

vonny, A megaowl.

Rhodesian ridgeback. Bred to hunt lions! They're big, strong, and fast (about 35mph; lions run at about 50 mph). I love dat ridge:

@Roberta,
Things are ok, day to day, month at a time. A fair amount of that is financial, but the odd disability makes itself known. Well, you know all about it.

I love you, you know, Robbie.

Enough of that, where are the mutts?

@edgarblythe,
edgar, How do you celebrate Rocky's birthday? He is one fine looking canine.

@Roberta,
I just give him plenty of loving, help him play with his chew toy and I saved him a small chunk of beef last dinner time.

When Rocky hears the thunder, as he did last night, he barks ferociously and runs out in the yard to confront it. No other dog of mine ever did that.

@edgarblythe,
That's quite a heart on that dog - he'd stand up to the thunder for you.

A three-month-old aye-aye, one of the world's most endangered species, pulls a face as it gets weighed by a member of staff at the Duke Lemur Centre in North Carolina.
