@edgarblythe,
Maybe it's a 'tree branch stick bug'. Darn good camouflage if it is.

@cherrie,
Is it on the bottom left side?

It's a lizard, and not a small one. On the left side of the tree toward the bottom.

Based on the lizard and a few other posts demonstrating amazing animal camouflage, I thought about starting a thread--kind of like a game. Spot the animal.

I googled animal camouflage and looked at lots of pictures. Either the camouflage wasn't that good, or it was too good. I couldn't find the damn animals.

C'est la vie.

@cicerone imposter,
They both take up a fair bit of the branch. The brown one i posted is a 'Leaf tailed Gecko'. I think the green one Ed posted is from Magadagascar, but it is a gecko too.

@hingehead,
I see some white feathery stuff, but can't see anything beyond that.

@cicerone imposter,
In both pics the gecko's head is near the bottom of the branch - the jawline is relatively easy to pick out, once you know what you're looking for.

@hingehead,
I think I see its head and eyes about one inch above from the bottom.

Not exactly camouflage, but too cute to resist.

@cicerone imposter,
I saw it somewhere along the line, once I saw the post wasn't a mistake (unlikely).

Had a lizard visit my bedroom a while ago and took her or him outside.
I'm not sure if that was a favor and I'd be interested in opinions. She/he was about six inches and rather beautiful. What was going on? a look for where to do what?

It's odd how one's heart can melt for certain creatures more than others. Probably that has been covered in academia.

I remember The Prince talking about lizards..

@snood,
snood, it's a dog. What kind? Not sure. I don't know a lot about small breeds. Sorry. Cute as the dickens though.

Could be a Pomeranian with what they might call a teddy bear cut.
