I liked the sable antelope too, though it wasn't as boom-boom a photograph..

and the zebra fish. Well, hell, I always like all the photos, just remark on some of them.

And the snake and boid shot appears to be indoors.

Indeed, that snake was on a shower curtain. You can click on that thumbnail for a larger image. When I said that the Brown tree Snake had become quite a pest on Guam I meant pest with a big "P". It is not uncommon for them to invade homes in search of food. According to Wiki, the snake density on Guam is one of the highest in the world, an estimated 2,000 snakes/kmĀ² (5180 per sq. mile).

How about a few more fabulous duck shots by Tom Ryan, this time Mallards.

Glad youl like the zebra, TTH. Some photos seem to capture the essense of an animal (I think this one does). Others are great photos for other reasons. And most photos are in the middle somewhere. I love the zebra shot too.

osso, Loved that sable antelope not for the photo so much but for the animal's stance and the sheen on its coat. The zebrafish? What can I tell ya? One good, clear fish, one not so good. Sometimes the pickings are lean.

mesquite, There's pests and then there's pests. Holy moly, an uninvited snake in the house. (Can't click on the thumbnail, computer problems. I'll take your word for it.)

That Tom Ryan knows how to take a picture!! The mallards are beautiful.

Some other-worldly looking critters from the deep.

Ah, mesquite. I couldn't resist, and I guess you couldn't either. How far into the future will we have to go (if ever) before we can see a coyote and not think of a road runner--and vice versa?

Here is another by Collins Cochran. This one had the following caption.

Farewell to "the little red ship", as she was affectionately known. We were saddened to learn that the MS Explorer sank the 23rd of November of this year in the Antarctic Ocean. We have fond memories of being on board and exploring the "7th" continent and learning a great deal about the Antarctic ecosystem. I took this photo of her and this gentoo penguin just a few years ago.
