Two 9ft polar bears wrestle in the snow near Hudson Bay in Manitoba, Canada. Photographer Joyce Ferder was just metres away from the bears, which weigh approximately 75 stone, as they play-fight which helps them train for any future threats from enemy bears. After an hour of play fighting, they walked off into the sun together.

This is the moment a greedy grizzly bear was spotted biting off more than it could chew. Bears are known for their insatiable appetite and judging by this image this bear is no exception.

The Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network to the rescue. They retrieved this dolphin on the beach near Bolivar Flats. The dolphin was loaded onto a custom stretcher and transported to a rehab center on Galveston Island.

Merah, a 45-year-old Sumatran orangutan, gave birth to a baby on December 14. The mother and female infant are doing well.
