FBM, That bug is a double doozy. Thanks for finding out what it is.

vonny, Great close-up of the black-tip.

This PC gets my vote for most beautiful mammal. One kid's opinion.

Sorry if nobody else thinks these sorts of beings are beautiful, but I have learned to.

@FBM,
I think they're beautiful. That makes two of us.

I'm still overwhelmed by the double doozy.

Found two more Tetragnatha today. They were easier to get to than that first one:

@Roberta,
Danke, you and osso. Incidentally, I was wrong about that being a planthopper. It's a moth.

You know, if you turn that cute red squirrel pick on its side, it looks like it's doing some sort of interpretive dance. Laughing

Forget the acorns. This guy is practicing for Alvin Ailey.

Sorry, I don't know what kind of fish this is, but it's a beauty.

@Roberta,
I never knew there was such a thing as a pigmy hippo. Uber-cute! Very Happy

I took a jaunt down to the local river today and ran into a damselfly in the Platycnemididae family:

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb192/DinahFyre/DSC_4596_01.jpghttp://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb192/DinahFyre/DSC_4619.jpghttp://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb192/DinahFyre/DSC_4596_02.jpg

That was my first experience of them. The legs are pretty striking. A close-up (not Platycnemididae) just for fun:

And a leafhopper? Planthopper? I've forgotten how to differentiate them:

And a lacewing:

On Phuket, Thailand, monkeys swim and dive in the water whilst they wait for bananas and nuts thrown by tourists.
