@timur,
I think that I may have nightmares over that photo timur Wink

I am not sure if a fish is an animal Smile But, I do think that they are beautiful to watch. Thought I would share Roberta.

We had an odd visitor to our neighborhood dog park this afternoon. Looks like it has a bit of basset hound in it.

The owner of this miniature horse has been bringing him to the park every now and then. All the dogs aren't sure what to make of it, especially when the horse decides to join them in one of their round-the-park romps.

@tsarstepan,
vonny, A chick and puppy. They appear to be friends. Love dem hippos. This one needs a napkin. OMG, it's Bambi. Such a beautiful pic. Soft and peaceful. Ear nibbling in the pachyderm world. Great shot. Thanks for them all.

osso, Great shots. Like the wet horse. Also like the scorpion. Love dem primates. Exceptionally cute babies. And the whole family looks wet. Thanks, kid.

FBM, You're playing with a dead moth? Should I be worried about you?

Reg, Striped beauties. Sigh and thanks.

timur, I appreciate your sentivity to my sensitivies, but holy moley, what is that? Tres impressive looking, whatever it is.

FS, Of course a fish is an animal. Thanks for the aquarium. It reminds me of my screensaver.

Butrfly, Lovely.

tsar, Is that a ground squirrel? It doesn't seem at all pertubed by trains rolling over its head, but a camera is worth attacking. Love it. Thanks.

Does it strike anyone as odd that I'm not sure if something is a ground squirrel, but I recognize a rock hyrax instantly? It strikes me as odd, which is why I brung it up.

@Roberta,
Roberta? That gemsbok is quite a gem. Smile

I'm assuming that little guy in the video is a gopher... which I just found out now is the same thing as a ground squirrel. Never heard of that term before you mentioned it. Cool

@vonny,
timur, I've seen hagfish before. Your pic must have been from a different angle. I like the toadfish. I'm a sucker for blue eyes. I assume the unseen eye is also blue. Thanks. (You're such a senstitive guy.)

tsar, Glad you like the gemsbok. I google "beautiful antelope" and then take my pick. I had no idea that a gopher and a ground squirrel were the same. Live and loin.

vonny, Is it possible to be too tired to thud? I must be or I would. Wonderful pic.

vonny, I know you're a fox fan. Cape foxes (aka cama foxes):

Love the little Cape foxes! I do profess to a certain affection for foxes in general - we have several visiting our garden regularly - they never do any harm, although they get a bad press in the UK.

@Roberta,
Me too - another fox fan.
Neat photo, Roberta.

Well, there I was looking up chicken alla cacciatora recipes* and ran into a food blog I'd more or less ignored before since I already follow so many: The Pioneer Woman. Ignoring it before was dumb of me, as there are some delicious recipes there with helpful instructions re the how to's, which I like to see. And, she had posted horse photos... mustangs.

Here's one:

http://imagec15.247realmedia.com/RealMedia/ads/Creatives/BlogHer/PioneerWoman_Default_300/wildhorses.jpg

Link to the blog in case you're hungry - or like horses.
http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2010/10/chicken-cacciatore/

* I involve myself in a ceaseless pursuit of a cacciatora recipe that was printed in the LA Times Home Magazine somewhere around 1969. I followed it and it was great, and different from most cacciatora (hunter's wife) recipes in that there were artichoke hearts in the mix. But the ceaseless pursuit is fun, bringing me to new and better food blogs.

tsar, Smelling salts. Tsar is down. Loved the canine/pachyderm friendship pics. But I didn't thud.

osso, Mustangs and cacciatore. Only you. Horse fan. Mustang fan. Italian cuisine fan. Thanks, kid. (Sigh. Wish I could taste your cooking.)

vonny, Somebody's gotta be first. Look at that little fluffball, spreading his wings. Good for you, fluffy. Vonny, is the mother bird a hawk? Maybe that's the father bird, waiting for his mate to get back to the nest to feed the kids. I visit online raptor nesting sites occasionally. It ain't easy being a boid.

Thud alert.
