@FBM,
vonny, Beautiful pic. I'm thinking that with a trunk, a bath can also be a shower. The lion cub and mother are a wonderful pair and are very photogenic. (What PC isn't?)

edgar, It's not uncommon for great apes to become friends with other species--in captivity. I don't know what goes on in the wild. Great pic. Thanks.

Debacle, Stunning pics. Leo probably just wanted to thank the birds for the chirping.

rosborne, Nice looking soipent. Thanks for sharing.

FBM, Fuzzy pic but beautiful bug. Thanks, kid.

Dogs are descended from wolves. Be very careful when confronted by this guy.

2 from the Guardian's Picture Desk Live:

The first of our cute baby twin animal pictures. First up is one of the giant panda twins born to a panda named Haizi at the Wolong Nature Reserve in China. These pandas are the first pair of the species born in the world this year.

A person could spend a lifetime waiting for a shot like that.

OK, that's hyperbole. A day at least. Wink

@FBM,
They set it up! Well, to some extent they did - arranged a pile of moss in water and, presumably, waited for an insect to come along? Still a wonderful photograph though.

@vonny,
I imagine they did. I just noticed how the surface tension of the water is making it climb that "rock." Doesn't look quite natural to me, but who knows.

Love that gecko, too!

@FBM,
Could it be a ripple shot with a really low shutter speed?

I wouldn't think so. Ripples don't come in singles, and the rest of the water is quiet. But then again, that's really small-scale, so maybe that's what the surface tension of water does normally. Either way, it's a fantastic image. Smile
