@ossobuco,
osso, Great pics. Great link. I scooped up another from the link. Couldn't resist. Alewives swimming over a sunken ship (off the coast of Maine; I used to go sailing off the coast of Maine).

vonny, Thanks for the large PC. I tell ya. Those PCs are mighty photogenic. Not a dud in the bunch.

@tsarstepan,
vonny, Beautiful sky. Nice camel. But I find the leg chains kinda disturbing.

tsar, Wonderful, charming video. I'm wondering how much those seal pups weigh.

@Roberta,
Hobbles are used in the desert to secure the camel in open areas where there are no tie posts or tie points to secure it. Not an ideal solution, but camels can travel quite a long way in a short time if you don't secure them - wearing a hobble means they have the freedom to wander, but not far. Especially useful if one is camped overnight in the desert. I must admit, it does spoil the picture somewhat, any form of restraint on an animal does, but I guess they are a necessary evil?

@vonny,
vonny, I understand the need for hobbles. That Tasmanian devil looks positively angelic. Thanks.

So the Preakness Stakes (or whatever the title) happens in about an hour. I'm naturally rooting for Orb. The press is so good re his times this week that it makes me worry - some horses I've picked have gotten hurt in this swirl of racing.

@vonny,
vonny, The cheetah pic is magnificent. It's wonderful to see that three cubs survived. Those kids are kinda grown up. I guess they haven't mastered the hunt yet.

Love the tiger pic. I'm sure that anyone who's had a dog is familiar with that water shake.

The polar bear pic is another winner. Such a cutie. And just think. Some day it will grow up to be the largest land predator on the planet.

Marine Sgt. Ross Gundlach, of Madison, Wisc., sits with Casey, a four-year-old yellow Labrador that he worked with while deployed in Afghanistan, as the two are reunited during a surprise ceremony, Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Statehouse in Des Moines, Iowa. Gundlach thought he was traveling to the Iowa Capitol to tell state officials why he should take ownership of the dog, which has been working for the state fire marshal's office. Gundlach didn't realize officials already had made arrangements to get another dog ....

@hingehead,
Barry, There's nothing like a pissed off capercaillie. Thanks for sharing. The story about the reunion of the marine and his dog did me good. Thanks mucho for that one.

HH, Wow! Love the dolphins. What are all those people doing up at the crack of dawn? Great pic. Thanks.
