Rescued 11 years ago during a police drugs raid in Atlanta, Georgia, the three friends were only cubs at the time and barely two months old. They had been kept as status symbol pets by the drug barons. Delivered to the Noah's Ark animal rescue center, the decision was made to keep the youngsters together....

Derby and Pacco at the gate (to the front gallery). Not sure what year, a while ago. Two dogs whose characters remain in my heart. I've shown this before, but it's been a while.

@ossobuco,
Barry, The mouse and the dandelion. Stunning photo. Delicate, gentle. Love it. Thanks mucho. I've seen film of the three large carnivore friends. It's not often that you see a lion as the petite member of the group. Thanks mucho mucho.

vonny, Are you trying to orchestrate a family reunion for me? This is Lulu and her three kids. From the slow side of the family. Poor thing can't get above 65 miles per hour. Some folks say she's just lazy. I say if you can't, you can't. Thanks for the pic.

osso, Love seeing this. Pacco from any angle was a keeper. Makes me smile. Thanks, kid.

In keeping with the late and lamented, here's Mikey enjoying some shredded paper:

Lulu a member of a British police explosive dog search team patrols during the London Marathon in London, Sunday, April 21, 2013. The London Marathon started in defiant mood on a glorious sunny morning Sunday despite concerns raised by the bomb attacks on the Boston Marathon six days ago. London's is the first major international marathon since the double bomb attack near the finish line in Boston, which left three people dead and more than 170 injured, including many who are still hospitalized.

@edgarblythe,
Barry, Glad to see that Lulu is on the job. Actually, just glad to see Lulu. She's a beauty. Thanks, London.

edgar, No need to apologize for repeats. The dog is worth seeing again. Thanks.

@Barry The Mod,
Quote:

The marines urination video doesn't show the real war crime
The urination video does not shock me so much as the public's tolerance of these immoral wars that make criminals of marines

...

During the second siege of Fallujah, blatant war crimes were committed, yet the corporate media reported them with indifference. The siege itself was a war crime, according to the International Committee of the Red Cross Summary of International Law, because indiscriminate tactics were used, constant care was not taken to protect the civilian population, proper distinction between civilians and combatants was not made, medical personnel and medical units were not protected, indiscriminate weapons were used, and recent research about the current health crisis in Fallujah suggests that poisonous weapons may have been used as well.

...

I've heard firsthand accounts of marines mutilating dead bodies, of a marine who murdered a civilian, and of a marine who slit a puppy's throat.

@rosborne979,
vonny, Not family this time. I can't be related to every speedy cat on the savanna. Very cute, though. Thanks.

Barry, It does my heart good to see the B and O again. And these are excellent selections. The bunny is bunnyish, and the otter is the epitome of otteryness. You're a good kid.

FM, If the puppy ate gummi bears, it's probably not so much guilty as it is trying to pry it's mouth open. Great face. Thanks.

rosborne, I think that's a flame bowerbird. Could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. And that boid may be poiple, but it's not a people eater. It is beautiful, though. Thanks mucho.

Thud alert. Yorkshire terrier puppy:

Time to raid photos from the Guardian again -

this time they're nature photos, from the Society of German Nature Photographers, 14 of them.
I'll only post a couple of them.
