@Roberta,
Snap Roberta, and snap Barry! In amongst family photos there was a photo of me aged 4, arms outstretched, bird food in hand, and pigeons everywhere! To me it was totally thrilling - loved pigeons ever since!

Such a shame that they've now been outlawed from Trafalgar Square - tourists loved them, and it meant the pigeons were fed proper bird seed and not reduced to picking through food refuse!

I love pigeons too.

@farmerman,
I'm no herpetologist, but quite often bright colourings in some species are secondary indicators of health/hunting prowess and aid mating decisions.

Hadn't thought about it in awhile, but I miss the Daily B &O. Here's a cute O learning to swim at the Oregon Zoo. Anyone got a B?

@vonny,
vonny, One of my favorite avians. Great looking, for one thing. And speed, for another. A falcon in a swoop. Whhhhhoooooosh. Thanks.

@Roberta,
That spider ain't so creepy. I wouldn't mind THAT much if he fell onto my noggin. Okay... I'd still freak out a bit. Shocked

A heat lamp keeps two one-day old lambs warm at Gwndwnwal Farm in Brecon, Wales. The recent cold snap has meant that farmers have had to continue feeding their sheep long into the period when they would normally be able to survive on grass.

It's spring! Time for some baby robins. I love the color of their eggs.

The one on the end looks like he's thinking, "Wadda ya lookin at, buster?"

I have a small gold brooch that's a lot like that photo, it's three little birds on a branch--now that I'm reminded of it, I'll remember to wear it more often this Spring.
