@farmerman,
I have never seen one prior to this pic farmerman. They are amazing. I read that white lions are not albino. The white fur is a recessive gene. I did not get to read far enough to see whether it also affected their hearing though.

@rosborne979,
rosborne, I had to go to google to check that out. It's a living, breathing animal! Shocked And thanks.

@mismi,
Yeh, thats the point. The recessive trait "package" includes White fur, blue eyes, deafness, and some renal insufficiencies that lead to early deaths in the wild (Such an animal is easy prey to other predators)

@rosborne979,
OW, thats a humdinger of a caterpillar. Im now worried, in each of our past geologic ages, the trend towards spinosity and ?or great horns and antlers just precedes some cataclysmic extinction event.

Not making an autocorrelation assertion, just callin em as I sees em.

Maybe those caterpillars anticipated that the recent meteor over Russia would be bigger than it was. Maybe we slid by the most recent disaster and bought ourselves another big slice of geologic time to fritter away Smile

@InfraBlue,
I'm still on a steep learning curve as far as computers are concerned. How did you do that?

@vonny,
Vonny, put your link in the reply box exactly as you did. Highlight the entire link. Now, while it's highlighted, look at all the boxes above the text area. One of them says "Img". Click it.

If in doubt, click the quote button on Infrablue's post that contains the picture. You will see the link the way it looks after doing what I said.
