@firefly,

Their tiny size allows them to easily pass through the dense underbrush of the forest.

Size isn't all that crucial for movement thru dense underbrush. I've seen elk and moose with full racks go thru bush that is all but inpenetrable for humans.

@hingehead,
osso, Thanks for the greyhound pic. I know about prison programs where inmates work with dogs. Didn't know there was one for greyhounds. Like hearing about it. Thanks.

firefly, The inside of that baby bird's mouth looks almost like a face. Amazing and wonderful. The parent bird is a beauty. Hadn't heard of couas. Thanks for the pics and the intro.

HH, The cockles of my heart are warmed by that photo. Little red fox sound asleep. Thanks mucho.

I watched a nature show earlier this evening about wolverines. These animals fascinate me. It was called something like "Wolverine: The Phantom something or other." They hang out in such harsh and difficult areas that relatively little is known about them. But what I know I like.

@Barry The Mod,
Fun to pick out the leader in that batch of kitties..

@edgarblythe,
Amazing how much an echidna 'puppy' looks like a mini platypus. The Flying Spaghetti Monster had no imagination we he brought life to the world with his noodly appendage.

Absolutely positively spectacular pics, folks. Osso, I'm overwhelmed. Barry, I'm recovering from yet another thud. Edgar, a double thud. Tsar, glad to see animals are in a halloweeny frame of mind.

Sorry I'm not being more specific. I'm pooped. I'm editing a 27-page chapter with 29 illustrations. Thud and a half.

Grouse. Only managed to get a photo because it flew into one of our big windows and was temporarily stunned.
