@tsarstepan,
tsar, I'm amazed that a species this large has managed to escape our notice until now. Wonderful face. I hear about the occasional bug or amphibian we have only recently run across. But a monkey. That's a biggy.

Barry, I'm not eating any honey-dipped apples. The horses can have them all. And beauties they are, indeed. Thanks for the good wishes.

Two male Southern elephant seals fight to be the alpha male of a harem of up to 100 females on the beaches of the Falkland Islands. The amazing fight was captured by wildlife photographer Kjell-Erik Moseid, who says the sound he experienced was almost as impressive as the pictures he shot. 'The deep rumble you can imagine. It is the sound of a heavy mill going round. Then there is a few seconds of quivering silence. Then they smack into each other and sound carries down to the spinal cord.

Just found this - a slide show of photos taken of animals at Point Reyes, in northern California. I've been nearby, at Pt. Reyes Station, but not actually in the park. Great area, so sorry I missed it.

captions are a little hard to find - in lighter letters under the row of photos

@hingehead,
olga, Great shot. I remember a tv show about these animals. Before I read the caption, I remembered the thunderous sound they made when they bumped. Then I read the caption. Major noise. I never fail to be amazed at what male animals do to get and hold onto females.

osso, I got some weird error message when I opened the link. Phooey. I wanted to see the pics.

tsar, Show biz can create some unusual kissing partners. Fun pic. Thanks, kid.

@Roberta,
I'll try again, thanks for telling me.

Same one -

Go to http://www.sfgate.com/Getting a Peek at Wildlife.
or
Hidden cams reveal Point Reyes’ wildlife haven

Good luck!

Or, if the photo is gone by the time you look, put Getting a Peek at Wildlife (or Hidden cams reveal Point Reyes' wildlife haven in their search space.

Worse comes to worse, in SFgate.com, look up their nature guy, Tom Stienstra for his columns. SFGate is the site for the San Francisco Chronicle, so if all else fails....

(It's worth it)

@hingehead,
HH, Small dog, small bird. Wonderful picture. Thanks. The zebra is worth a major thud. THUD.

osso, Got to see the pics with the first link. Thanks for reposting. Loved the pictures. A little surprised to see a badger.

@hingehead,
Now kinda of doubting Candleworth was the photographer because he also posted this
