Thanks, Thomas, for the very, very small hedgehog. Sleep, baby.

olga, The seal looks just a little overwhelmed, but it's beautiful. Glad it was rescued and is being cared for.

c.i., What a spectacular picture and spectacular animal. Wonderful on two counts. Thanks.

FBM, Love dem fuzzy moths. Thanks, kid.

Western green mamba. Although the black mamba isn't black, the green mamba is green. These snakes spend most of their time in trees. They are highly venomous:

Nastia, a six-month-old female bear cub, in a private zoo in Haisyn, Vinnitsya region, about 250km south of Kiev. Nastia was rescued by Ukrainian authorities and the Four Paws Animal Welfare Foundation from the private zoo because they thought there might be a risk of her being sold for circus or tourist entertainment. Nastia and her mother will be transferred from their temporary home at Lutsk Zoopark to a brown bear sanctuary in Ukraine. In 2011, Ukraine's environment minister announced a ban on the private captivity of brown bears.

Water off a duck's back? Not if the duck is covered with soft down, like this Moscovy duckling in Pembroke Pines, Fla. The droplets get stuck in the fuzz.

@ossobuco,
olga, I beautiful bear cub on it's way to a sanctuary. Good. And thanks.

c.i., Wow, that's a big beastie. Great to see it. Thanks mucho.

Hiya London, Don't need a story. Just enjoying those three gawgeous faces. Thanks, kid.

Gee, HH. Too bad you couldn't find anything to post.

Holy moley, kid. A plethora of beauties. Thanks for each and every pic. You are too much.

osso, Love that duckie down. The picture of the dog reminds me of the pond in Cental Park where dogs would go swimming around. Love that. Also enjoyed seeing the kid on kid pic. Thanks amiga.

@hingehead,
Very handsome
Here's a squirrel that might need to diet, but looks cheery enough -

"Aww, nuts! As in somebody ate too many before trying to slip through an opening in a manhole cover in Isenhagen, Germany. It took police intervention and some olive oil to free the stuck squirrel."

"Well worth it if you ask me, eh, Bro? In Tennessee, wildlife rehabilitators must cover all the expenses of caring for animals themselves. Marybeth Rood, for example, just shelled out more than $700 for rabies, Parvo and distemper vaccinations for these two bandits."

@ossobuco,
You leave him in there awhile, he'll lose some weight and get out by himself.
