@hingehead,
No, HH, they may be laughing on the outside, but . . . These tiny animals (maybe 3 inches) exist on one small island, and their territory is being overrun by civilization.

Edgar, Such a beautiful bat. I'd guess that it's a fruit bat, but there's a very good chance that I'm wrong.

I didn't post my favorite mantis because I'd posted it before. To hell with that. Here it is. The orchid mantis.

@hingehead,
HH, This puffin looks like an expectant father--concerned and pacing. So hatch already. Great pic. Thanks.

@hingehead,
Hinge, you're needed to change something in your Olympics thread. Czech Republic is not in whatever category you thought it was.. and needs to be replaced with another choice. Oops, that's just all other possible teams, Category D.

Oh, and beautiful, touching photo, very sad..

@hingehead,
HH, I've seen films of the tiger sanctuary. They make me sad. Beautiful pic. As for the dove, be still my heart. Wow. And

Thud. Too beautiful.

@roger,
Well, he likes romantic candlelit dinners and walks on the beach... Wink

Oh, wait. Sorry. I'm afraid I've never ID'd that one. I could give it a try, though. I was walking around a Buddhist temple and saw it in a corner.

@FBM,
FBM, Is that a dragonfly or a damselfly? (Yes, I know. Sometimes I can be a real pain in the patoot.) The spider is wonderful. Walks on the beach! Not buying it, kid. What was a St. Andrew's Cross doing in a Buddhist temple? An ecuminical arachnid? Great-looking. Thanks muchisimo.

The alpha male (gray) wolf is being challenged by an upstart (white) with a big mouth. Can't we all get along? Guess not.
