Ivan spent 27 years in a concrete-and-steel cage all by himself at the B&I store in Lakewood. He is at least 43 now. I remember going there just to visit him. I used to put my hand against the glass and he would come over and put his hand up to to mine. I would smile at him and he had this lonely look in his eyes.
