@Ceili,
Thanks, Ceili, for all the good info. Hopefully, it'll survive long enough to make it onto the pages of Beautiful Animals.

@cicerone imposter,
Let's just go with "monitor" and pretend that we know. I can keep a secret if you can...

It will take a really generous-minded person to call these "beautiful"....

@FBM,
That's correct; I saw several monitors in South Africa. The picture on the lower left panel is one I took at the Chobe game park in Botswana.

@FBM,
FBM, Ooooh. Another great spider. Glad you decided to post the arachnid pics. What kind of spider is that? Now I'm looking at the second spider. Great colors. Now I'm looking at the third spider. Um, interesting. Oh, I love dem birds. What kind of bird is that? Great coloring. It has to be some kind of raptor. Of course, I could be wrong.

Arella Mae, Great to see you here. I knew the laptop in the hospital would come in handy. Glad you're liking the pics.

firefly, A cougar cub. (Also a puma cub and a mountain lion cub.) I think these babies are among the most beautiful in the feline world. Thanks for posting.

snood, You're definitely in a lemur frame of mind. Great shots. I love the mouse lemur. Didn't know there was such a thing. Big time thanks.

Barry, One cute kitten. I know you posted it for Arella Mae. So shoot me. I looked. Another wonderful spider. Not a lot of animals have smiles on their stomachs. I love this stuff. Holy moley, Barry, that marmoset is scaring me. Thanks, kid.

Ceili, Is that a real reflection of a rhino or some kinda fancy photo magic? I'm hoping it's the real thing. It's perfect. The first time I saw one of those peacock spiders, I couldn't believe it. Amazing and wonderful. Thanks for two doozy pics.

soz, Those little devils don't look all that evil. At least not when the photo was taken. In fact they're very cute. That's the devil for ya. Thanks.

c.i., It could be a monitor lizard. I checked around. Couldn't find a monitor with that coloring. I envy you having seen all that wildlife in the wild. Sigh. Thanks for sharing.

A marital dispute?

@Roberta,
A cat has his tongue! ^^

Sorry, Roberta, but I only know that the first spider is a variety of jumping spider and that the first bird is a hawk. No idea about the others.

@Arella Mae,
Good thing that cord wasn't hanging, secured around your mule's [I forget his name, sorry] neck, AM. Smile
