dj, Very close up bunny. Looks very soft. Like the otter with the ball. Also like the ghostly image of a child at the bottom of the picture.

Irish, Yes, the reptilian version of windshield wipers. Love that little gecko. So how much does Betty weigh? She looks svelte enough.

Osso, A mob of meerkats. A mob of kangaroos. Wonderful pic. I like the elephant too. Seems to have had a recent pedicure. That's a wonderful shot of the Sarus cranes. That's a very cute little monkey.

olga, That is one don't-mess-with-me raccoon. Thanks, kid.

Indian mongoose:

I just love the animal photos in the UKTelegram! Most are sent in by readers. They recently did a review of the cutest animal photos of 2011 (about 60 photos)...here are a few...

She weighed in at 137 kilograms, making her possibly the largest snake in Australia. She likes goat, but was put on a diet, so instead of her usual 10 goats (last year), this year she only got 3 or 4...and gained only 2 kilograms. She's tall, though (6.5 metres)...and still growing so her handlers were pleased.

Over 21 feet and slightly over 302 pounds. Dats one big Betty!

dj, The ball is filled with bunny food. Do bunnies play with balls that are filled with air? And a group of otters is a raft. This raft looks tres relaxed.

Irish, That species is the biggest fish in the world--the whale shark. They don't eat people, not even a tasty foot. Great pics. Hey, mister, throw that shark some krill.

This all reminds me - one of my book buying weaknesses, new or used, is a soft spot for photography books. I've a lot of books re cats and dogs. I suppose copyright is a problem, so I'd have to check dates, but even if I can't show them, I should be able to list the photographers and give links to their work online, and at the least the books.
