@djjd62,
I didn't take offense at it djjd! On the contrary, if I am wrong about something I need to know. I guess either word would have worked so we are good.

I am addicted to zooborns!

A ginger cat nuzzles with a deer at Odessa Zoo, Ukraine. Photographer Vitaly Ktachsays: "I saw them when walking in the zoo with my camera and could not resist stopping to take pictures. The affectionate behaviour of the cat towards the young deer had myself and other visitors watching in disbelief. Evidently real love doesn't know taboo. These animals don't care about the opinion of others."

Lion Cameron and white tiger Zabu play together at the Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida. A meeting between the two predators would have been impossible in the wild as they hail from different continents. The feline duo - aptly nicknamed The Odd Couple by their caretakers at Big Cat Rescue in Florida - were rescued from a roadside zoo around eight years ago.

An Alaskan brown bear does a Jungle Book impression with a Baloo-like bear bath. Photographer Rick Sheremeta captured the scene at the McNeil River Game Sanctuary on the Alaska Peninsula. He says: "It put a paw behind its head in a relaxed pose and at one point threw its head back in bliss. I'm pretty sure it didn't know I was there but at the end the bear turned and seemed to stare at me as if saying 'How dare you interrupt my bath?'."

Sounds like some sort of hard hitting nature documentary on the food chain...

I took this photo of Henry this morning. I believe he has doubled in size in just six months.

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01975/owl-sprinkler_1975759i.jpg
A burrowing owlet appears to be wondering how to turn on the sprinkler. The cute scene was captured by photographer Megan Lorenz during a hot spell in Cape Coral, Florida. Megan says: "We have had some very hot weather in Florida recently and we've all done everything we can to keep cool. It seems the burrowing owls have the same idea and garden sprinklers seem like the perfect solution to them. I saw one burrowing owl land in the spray and immediately spread its wings to get as much moisture on them as it could. But the funniest sight was the juvenile owlet who perched on the sprinkler hose and seemed to be staring at the tap. It was almost as if he was wondering how to turn it on."

@Irishk,
Irish, I think they are reading the owl all wrong. I don't think he's trying to figure out how to turn on the sprinkler. I think he's looking longingly, the way a child might look at a cookie, in the hope that someone will turn it on.

Love dat monkey pic, big time.

Arella Mae, I forgot to tell you that mongooses is the preferred plural for mongoose. At one time is was the only accepted plural (I think) but now mongeese is considered an acceptable alternative.
