Miss Roberta, if you visit that site have plenty of smelling salts with you! It is so cool. They have videos of the baby capybaras. They are too cute! But have you ever seen a face as cute as this little guy?

@Roberta,
Another relative just unearthed in South Africa - anthropologists are trying to place him somewhere in our ancestry and having a very hard time of it:

Duck off the menu....for now...
http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01955/lynx-duck_1955825i.jpg
A duck had a very lucky escape when a sneaky predator made a swipe for it. The lynx had spotted a tasty duck bobbing about on a pond and, after creeping up through long grass, made a leap with claws outstretched. But the duck made a life-saving flap for freedom as the lynx's paws narrowly missed its prize. Photographer Anthony C Gibson captured the dramatic scene in Alaska's Denali National Park.

@Irishk,
Barry, Loving dem GI dawgs. Thanks, kid.

dj, Do otters get tans? That one looks like he's trying.

Irish, Sometimes it's good to be short. The squirrel doesn't have to worry about anybody taller getting in the way.

When I see pics of predator and prey, I try very hard not to root for somebody. If the prey escapes, the predator goes hungry. If the predator wins, the prey gets et. Either way is nature's way.

I posted this yesterday early afternoon, but it never showed up. I thought I broke the thread again...or I was banned lol.

Anyway...this little guy didn't read the warning labels!

A chipmunk appears to be smoking a cigarette. The squirrel-like creature was snapped by holidaymaker Joanne Evans from Manchester, on Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Island. Joanne, who was on holiday with boyfriend, said: "We were just leaving the beach when the chipmunk popped up over the beach wall with the cigarette in its mouth. It was such an odd sight that I got my camera out and took a photo. It just sat there for a short while and then ran off into a bush."

@djjd62,
Irish, The filter might make great nesting stuff. Or the little guy's a smoker.

dj: Maybe bunnies with droopy ears look sadder than bunnies with stand-up ears. Just a theory. That could be the best otter picture yet. Such expression. Such visible intelligence. Wow!

Speaking of expression, a mountain gorilla:
