SHe fell asleep!!! LOL!

Wildlife photographer Rick Sheremeta snapped a brown bear nodding off in a river while still clutching its tasty catch. He says: "I spent four days observing brown coastal bears at McNeil River Falls on the Alaskan Peninsula, some 290 miles southwest of Anchorage. One adult female bear sat down, cradled her catch under her arm and promptly nodded off." At least she has a delicious snack to wake up to.

@Irishk,
Irish, Loving your contributions. The tiger has the right idea. Stick your head on a block of ice.

I know that there are regular sized horses used in therapy. Didn't know about the little guys. Diminutive, but 100 percent horse.

I agree that the donkey looks kinda big for a new born.

I like a squirrel with attitude. Hey, squir, don't holler.

OK, The bear fell asleep in the cold water while holding a fish. Tired is tired. I love this!!! The last hysteria to fatten up before the winter must be very tiring. Did I mention that I love this? I do.

As long as I posted the peacock spider, why not the peacock shrimp, aka mantis shrimp. Yes, I posted one before. They're doozies.

@Roberta,
hmmmm.

just saw something would make a friend of mine get the major willies.

a big ol' spider. but it was in the pond. on a water lily pad.

and then it went in the water.

any of you animal folks familiar with a water spider that lives in North America?

I thought that was an African and Asian kinda thing...

@Rockhead,
Water spiders live in the water. Wolf spiders live on land but like water and live near it. It wouldn't be unlikely to find one on a lily pad.

Why not google wold spider and see if it looks familiar?

I googled insect camouflage. Couldn't so the insects. I opted for this one:

@djjd62,
The planet's biggest vegetarian, a whale shark - but would you try to take a close-up picture while he's inhaling his plankton? This NG photographer did:

A 238 lb. bundle of joy!!! (Not the best photo, but the only one they're releasing for now.)

The Indianapolis Zoo's African elephant Kubwa gave birth to her third calf (shown here), a healthy 238 pounds. The newborn, still unnamed, makes Kubwa the first African elephant in the world to give birth three times via artificial insemination. / Gabi Moore / The Indianapolis Zoo

Mom weighs in at a little over 8,000 lbs. and the baby (her previous babies, too) need a stepstool to reach her lol. So cute!

@ossobuco,
Thanks for catching up, dj. There can never be too many Bs&Os. What does the second bunny have in its mouth?

High Seas, Vegetarian? Plankton includes animal life. And, as I've said before, those wildlife photographers are mishuga. Great pic.

Irish, Tres cute sand cat. Extremely tres cute baby pachyderm.

osso, I enjoyed every minute of that and every picture. Sigh. Thanks muchisimo.
