Don't quite know what to say about the cardinal - interesting. Wonder how often that happens.

Hingehead, that would quite heartbreaking meeting this guy out in the wild and he just gives you this look and walks away. Very Buddhist like. He must know everything.

Too young to spread their wings, these adorable week-old grebe chicks get around by hitching a ride on their mum's back. The tiny youngsters bury themselves under the protective wings of their mother and accept food from their father. The family were photographed by Norbert Schuster in the Ruhr river in Germany.
