...Einstein became a media sensation when he was born last year on a farm in Barnstead, New Hampshire, appearing on TV with Oprah Winfrey. Einstein exhibits no dwarf characteristics and is simply a very small miniature horse. His mother Finesse stands a relatively tall 32 inches and his dad Painted Feather slightly smaller at 30 inches.

Not quite old enough to have shed the feathers of his youth, the one brown-headed bald eagle stands out among his family. The juvenile bird looks the odd-one-out as he nestles among the group. Photographer Pam Mullins snapped this shot near her home in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada.

@Irishk,
Arella Mae, I appreciate the warning. The baby cheetah chirps like a bird. I didn't know that.

High Seas, Thanks for the additional info about Knut. Sad sad story.

dj, That bunny pic is a little disturbing. The otter pic is a little confusing. Not complaining. Just mentioning.

Irish, Wonderful photos. Wonderful little horse. I'm loving that eagle pic. Nobody seems concerned about the brown-feathered guy. The polar bears' cubs introduction to the outside world. Cute, wet, and furry.

Plucky Lola: When her owner's home in Boston's Hyde Park burned, Lola the Dachshund was feared lost. In fact she survived the blaze and lived in the gutted house for four weeks, apparently on food scraps and toilet water. After recovering from her injuries in an animal hospital, she was reunited with her joyful owner, Terisa Acevedo.

I have to just laugh! Einstein isn't afraid of that ball and it is ten times his size and JJ is ten times the size of his ball and he's a chicken!
