Caribou, Thanks for posting these beauties. Not sure I ever saw a pudu. Love encountering new animals.

WOW. This whole page is great.

Two years ago, I watched a goose family raise their goslings in a culvert off a highway I drove on every day coming home from work. The little guys went from tiny, fuzzy electric green balls of goosiness to being almost indistinguishable from their parents. Saw some fledging, too. Amazing -- all from the comfort of my car in traffic. I guess they figured the honking was us all encouraging them.

Jes, Has anyone ever told you that you have a way with words? I'm telling you now, querida.

I've been watching via webcam boids nesting. Soon I'll see babies. Then fledging. You were fortunate to see this in the flesh--without having to go out of your way or turning on the computer.

I'm coitain that the car horns were a great encouragement.

Thank you, dolling. Embarrassed Now, where are the birdie webcams? I never get outside these days, except to go to and from work, or at least it seems that way. A cam of little peepers would rock.

Jes, bubbele, here's a link to a peregrine falcon site atop the Rachel Carson building in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

http://www.dep.state.pa.us/dep/falcon/

There are five eggs, three of which will likely hatch. The boid sitting on these eggs is near and dear to my heart. Fact is, it's likely two boids--mother and father taking turns.

There's nothing much to see yet. Just the sainted bird(s) keeping the eggs warm. I'm sure that things will get decidedly more interesting when they hatch.

There's a peregrine falcon site in NYC, but no boids. There are other sites around the country.

Speaking of which, here's a peregrine falcon from another urban falcon site. This bird is in a swoop/dive. It's hunting.

It seems that mostly wild animals are posted here. This is a picture of
a German German Shepherd (as opposed to an American German Shepherd)

She is my sister's dog and only understands German.
I tease her (the dog) calling her banana because her name is Gikita.

This is Banna, same breed, her eyes say a lot.

Rosborne posted this photo a while back. It was labeled a bird of paradise. I couldn't figure out what I was looking at. This bird doing this display was shown on Planet Earth. It's wrapping its feathers around its body to create this effect.

Don't know if you've already posted one of these, but a red-tailed hawk roosts daily on towering pine tree, in direct line of sight from my home office window. It's a thrill each time he passes by.

It looks like that dog can't decide if he should chase a car or take a crap. The indecision has paralyzed him and placed him in that ridiculous posture.

Tico, We do repeats. No need to be concerned about whether we've had a red-tailed hawk or not. You're fortunate to have this bird in view. There's a red-tailed hawk living on Fifth Avenue in NYC. He's kinda famous. In fact, there were a couple of threads here about him and his mate. If I can find the links, I'll post them.

gus, I agree with Region. Likely to be a physical malformation. Unfortunately German shephers are bred to have a sloping back. This causes all kinds of problems.

Reg, I gotta admit to a certain feline family resemblance. However, leopards have much bigger teeth than we swifty types.
