Just recovering from thudding after seein the newborn otters. This thread should come with a warning.

Here's another of my favorite pics. Effortless hunting/fishing:

The monkey/eye thing fascinates me.

@Arella Mae,
Alpaca - weird/cute poodle cut. I saw one while walking in the Dordogne Valley - did an immediate double take. Then started looking for Alpaca cheese Wink

Ruth is saying, "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful. It's not my fault."

@Arella Mae,
How does Ruth feel about hugs and such. She looks like she could use one right about now.

Ruth is a very gentle mule. She loves attention but she does not like hats. Dave tried to put one on her and she didn't like it. I guess for JJ's birthday party she will be the only guest with no hat.

@Ionus,
Ionus, After I saw Jaws, I was afraid to go to the bathroom for a while. I got over it.

My favorite great ape:

http://www.treehugger.com/20081023-chimpanzee.jpg

These animals have many human characteristics. They hunt (with great efficiency), they wage war (usually about territory), they commit murder, and they create tools. They have fascinating, complex societies. And they're both lovable and dangerous.

@Roberta,
Good morning Roberta! An excellent assortment of picks this morning, including your gravity defying cheetah which looks to me like she's climbing down a tree head first and at full speed.

@tsarstepan,
Glad you like the pics, tsar. But that ain't no cheetah. Cheetah's can't climb. That's a leopard. And it does look gravity defying, doesn't it. That's one of the reasons why I love that picture.

Later, kid.

Magnificent pics, firefly. Love dem boids. Love dem felines too. That's a special pic of the largest felines on the planet. Not sure what especially appeals to me about it. But it's wonderful.

Watched something on the Animal Planet last night about a tiger. A nutcase in Harlem kept a tiger (full-grown) in his apartment in the projects. Then he brought in a stray street cat. The tiger got annoyed and attacked the man. Authorities eventually found out about the tiger. They showed film and stills of an animal control worker trying to sedate the tiger by going in the window. The tiger appeared at the window. Get that man a diaper. Here's a bit of the show:
