@ossobuco,
I wasn't trying to break your heart! Isn't it something how animals and children can tug at a person's heart so much?

@Izzie,
Thanks Izzie for another lovely batch of bird shots. Very Happy

BTW: How did that person get an actual hold of a wild bird? Was she injured or did she land on that person's hand?

@tsarstepan,
He's a wee willow tit... he flew straight into the window and knocked himself out... so we moved quickly to get him out of the bush before the kitties could get him and made sure his wings were fine... then let him go - took 3 times to get him out the conservatory, he kept flying back in, but once out flew straight to TC's tree and chirped away, no worse for wear. Cute as the dickens he was Very Happy

(photos taken thru the window, too cold to be outside, so there's some glare) Razz

Merry Christmas Tsar - hoping you will have a good one. x

@tsarstepan,
i was trying to get the nuthatches to eat out of my hand the other day, the little buggers have no fear and will sit on the deck or feeder poles or trellis within inches of you and sort do the head cock thing that birds do, if it hadn't been so cold, i would have stayed out longer, and i'm sure they would have jumped the few inches into my hand

@djjd62,
Hey Didge, man, that would be good - the nuthatches are real skittish here, land for literally a couple of seconds - I think they have to be one of my favourite birds in the world tho... they are very intense looking - love them.

Happy Christmas Didge. x

I googled north pole wildlife and got some strange pictures. My two favorites: an orangutan and a penguin. You can't trust the Internet.

Two that were in the right hemisphere--

Polar bear (amazing swimmers)

I don't think he likes his haircut. Isn't it something though? Such amazingly odd creatures are just so fascinating.

One of the gang of blue jays that hangs around demanding peanuts. The other day the Mr. was working in the garage with the big door open and ignoring the visual and verbal clues from the gang about the lack of peanuts. One of the jays flew past him into the garage and wheeled around at the back wall and flew past on his other side squawking all the while. You could say that got his attention! (He said, "I couldn't believe it. It flew into the garage!") Needless to say, the gang got their peanuts.
