Ninja squirrel...
http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01779/squirrel-tai-chi_1779685i.jpg
A squirrel appears to be practising Tai Chi or Kung-Fu in a park in Moscow. The photographer said: "It was really bizarre. I was photographing the squirrel and it seemed to be making some really odd shapes with its front paws. It did look like it was doing martial arts. I think it had a small nut and was struggling to get to grips with it."

@Irishk,
High Seas, It suprises me not at all that peregine falcons can outglide humans. Thanks for the info.

Osso, Did my homework on slow lorises. They can produce a toxin which is injected when they bite. And they do bite. The toxin produces an allergen. It's fatal in humans who succumb to anaphylactic shock.

Irish, A meerkat statue? How charming. I wonder about the panda situation. Yes, baby pandas don't get to see humans. But humans in panda outfits don't smell like pandas or move like pandas or sound like pandas. I wonder how effective the process is.

As for the escaped bear, I hope it's prepared to live in the wild. Could be a very dangerous situation--for the bear and humans it may encounter.

I love dat squirrel. LOVE IT. Thanks, kid.

Ooh - he looks like a Sun Bear - those claws are very dangerous - glad everyone was smart enough to let him go where he was going.

@Roberta,
Wasn't surprised peregrine falcons glide better than pilots - was annoyed that nobody thought to examine their flight sooner! Absolutely fascinating report in National Geographic - big cats are in danger of extinction, and considering your avatar I'm sure you'd like to help as would others here:

Elephant polo? I had no idea.

The world may be lurching into recession, but in the jungles of southern Nepal, it's business as usual for the eclectic bunch of jetsetters gathered for their annual festival of Pimm's and elephant polo during The World Elephant Polo Championships which is taking place from November 29 - December 4.

Rolling around in the sand, a mother seal joins her young pup frolicking on the beach at a remote wildlife reserve in Lincolnshire.

More than 1,250 pups have been delivered amongst the dunes on the remote wildlife reserve of Donna Nook - an RAF bombing range in Lincolnshire.

The 3,000 strong colony, the biggest in England, has seen its population double after the largest number of pups were born at the reserve which boasted just 220 seals in 1966.

The male and female seals, bulls and cows, spend most of their year at sea or on far-out sandbanks. They feed on fish such as cod and salmon and can dive up to seventy metres deep.

Between September and December they 'haul out' at the reserve - a 10mile stretch of pristine sand beach and dunes - to breed.
Each pup weighs about 15kgs at birth but bulk up to 40 kilos in three weeks due to a diet of three litres of mothers' milk a day.

The seals have a massive area on which to breed so fewer pups get squashed by bulls and the young pups can stay further from the sea. On the Atlantic coast many fall prey to crashing waves.

The seals are not concerned by planes and staff at RAF Donna Nook make every effort to make sure that no harm comes to any animal because of military activity.
