White-chinned petrel (on the ground it's hard for me to distinguish these birds from many other shore bird, but in the air, wow):

Flying fish. My father returned to the US after WWII by crossing the Atlantic in a banana boat. He told me that flying fish were constantly flying into the boat.

Glad you like it, Osso. Each animal in its own way has something of beauty. Some appeal to us more than others for different reasons.

I'm gonna have to get another black leopard. The one I posted keeps disappearing, at least from my computer.


Decided on a black jaguar instead. Didn't even know they existed.

I think it was a black jaguar that I saw caged at the LA zoo quite a number of years ago, really depressing. So, I thought all jaguars were black...

Many zoos have come a long way. Still not ideal. Never will be. Sad to say that there will come a time when more and more animals will exist only in zoos as they disappear from the wild.
