@rosborne979,
Since they don't have eyelids, they must get a lot of dust and hair into their own unblinking eyes. Poor poor bastards.

Hi K, yes, those are jumping spiders. The eyes give them away (and the colors). Jumping spiders have extremely good vision because their hunting style is "stalk and pounce".

I don't know how they keep them clean. But they probably aren't "wet" like ours are.

LOL! What an amazing little arachnid he is. I had no idea there was such a thing. This thread is really special. I have learned about so many different animals.

@rosborne979,
Rosborne, I'm left speechless (doesn't happen often). I'm plotzing all over the computer (messy in a figurative sort of way). What pictures. What animals. What a planet we live on.

Thank you big time.

@djjd62,

Oh that's terrible!
I had absolutely no idea that this is such a common problem. In fact this is the first I've heard of it.
Poor bears!
Thanks for the information, djjd.
I hope they manage to find the bear in time.

@djjd62,
olga, dj posted this. The bear is unstuck.

looks like the bear has freed himself, someone found what they believe is the jar, someone suggested the poor fellow lost enough weight that he managed to get unstuck

@Roberta,
Thanks, Roberta.
And I'm sorry for the offense I may have caused by my initial (somewhat flippant) response on the photograph posted by the tsar.
I honestly had no idea that this was such a serious issue.
