a cutie from the outtakes of SF Chronicle photographers -
Little Greeting - 3:30pm - Ghiradelli Square. I was walking through Ghiradelli Square when I spotted two youngsters with pink jackets, Jillian Kusa on the right is 2 1/2 years old and Pumpkin on the left is 3 months old, greeting each other.

Rats - 1.22 p.m.- Market and Powell Streets. San Francisco is full of characters and the Rat Lady is par for the course. She raised Thor the rat from a baby and it helps to know that Thor is just 1 of 20 or so rat's she totes around with her everyday. She would make a great The City Exposed someday if I could ever get over my fear of rodents.

Chicken Little - 11:21 a.m. - The Little Farm at Tilden Park. During a visit inside the small red barn, I was greeted by one of the locals who was just passing through.

Pigeons and shopping bags - 1:22 p.m. - Market and Castro Streets. While starting a photo essay to compliment a piece Carl Nolte is writing on the many personalities of San Francisco's Market Street I noticed a man waiting to cross the street with his groceries. It was the pigeons and the crisscrossing sidewalk cracks that help the composition. Interestingly enough if you look closely you'll notice no bird comes in contact with a crack. Weird right?
