Unbelievable stuff, dj. I'm plotzing. Not painful, but messy. Truly magnificent wonderful pics. Still breathing though.

Stunning pinto (looks like it's got some Arabian):

@dlowan,
I adore otters.

(Dirty secrets of sea otters: males steal cubs and won't give them back until mums hand over the food they just caught!; males sometimes kill females because they hold on with their teeth to the female's nose while mating. I guess they haven't had time to evolve love handles since taking to the sea!)

It's ok...they're just playing! They love to play:

It's minus 1 F outside. I do not know why these bees were out sunbathing.

@dlowan,
Otters are my favorite animals. I could only be so lucky to be reincarnated into such a species.

Don't worry, the growl is worse than the bite - for now.

Five rare White Tigers were born Dec. 28, 2009 at Metropolitan Zoo in Santiago, Chile. The cubs, including the two seen above, were on display earlier this week, mugging for the cameras with precious ferociousness.

The white-furred babes are five of only about 200 such tigers on earth. The colour of their fur is a result of a rare genetic mutation.

This is the first litter of five the Metropolitan Zoo has seen in 82 years, according to the Associated Press.

This cub has the regall poses down pat, now he just needs to grow into those paws.

At only a few weeks old, the cubs are still too cute to invoke much fright.

The Chilean zoo where they were born is building a special home for the siblings. The enclosure will have a large grassy area, waterfalls, and no bars, reports The Associated Press.

I just wanted to prepare most of you "beautiful animals" fans, cause I have made reservations to visit the Amazon for six days in May, and to South India for 23-days in November. I'm hoping to get some tiger pictures, cause I've been to some parks that was supposed to have tigers, but they were absent from my site.

I'll post my usual travelogues with pictures upon my return.

deb, LOVE dem otters. They are wonderful animals. Beautiful, smart, playful, and just plain wonderful. Sharks have similar "difficulties" with mating without love handles. Females bear the scars of mating for life. I guess the males get a little carried away.

dj, LOVE dem tigers. Love 'em, I tell ya. I assume that these tigers are Bengal, not Siberian. Why? Dunno. A full-grown Bengal tiger male can be 400 or more pounds. Siberians are bigger. Doesn't really matter. They're gorgeous, endangered, and spectacular at any weight. Learned a new word--scarper--for which I thank you. Always glad to add to my vocabulary.

c.i., Looking forward to your travel pics. You do get around the world, don't you. Hope you get to see a tiger this time.
