@Izzie,
Great pictures Izzie, enjoyed them. G. exposed himself to danger to take them!

@Dutchy,
G did... he was in an open jeep, dead of nite... mama lion to the left... cubs to the right (Sounds a bit like a song) - he has incredible shots (admits he was terrified) - just INCREDIBLE pics. Only borrowed 4 of the pics - but I asked if I could publish them on the internet after he has savoured them for a while... he was all for it. Very Happy He's still not been on A2K ( nor knows the name ) - and... he's never seen my web albums - so, he'll figure it out how to get here if he wants to from them. Reckon my defences are dropping now - what will be will be. Razz

Dj - love the bugs.... LOVE A BUG! Very Happy

@Izzie,
Izzie, Positively glorious safari photos. What is that second boid? So verra (as you would say) beautiful.

dj, Da bug on da flower is lovely. The snails--something I never saw in the wild. I lead such a citified and mundane existence. Thanks, kid.

@Roberta,
Ah, love the apaloosa, Roberta. (sad, however) and that baby fox(reynard) is so sweet. Glad that he is not a "fox on the run."

I never think of bugs that I don't think of this scared little black one.

Love the ladybug, too.

Breathtaking pictures from G's safari in Kenya, Izzie. I never think of Kenya that I don't think of the first short story I tried to read by Ernest Hemingway, and all because there was a frozen leopard atop Mt. Kilimanjaro. Didn't get into it much after that, 'cause I was only eleven years old. Check it out sometimes.

@Letty,
Hi Letty, Thanks for the big black bug. It's a doozy. Why is the apaloosa sad?

Saw a nature show last night where baby foxes were getting bumped off by wolves. Ain't nature grand?

@Roberta,
http://i1.treknature.com/photos/13483/pelican_62.jpg

A remarkable bird is the pelican
His beak can hold more than his belly can
He can hold in his beak
Enough food for a week
And I'm damned if I know how the hell he can

I thought Odgen Nash did that one, Roberta

@Letty,
Misti and I watched a pelican try to swallow a fish. A most inconvenient way to eat, in my opinion.

@djjd62,
Boida - We have one out of four that has survived " bless this littlun ducklin’ " he’s doubled his size in 10 days and is peep-peeeping loudly. MaMa duck is happy and we are happy that all is going swimmingly with this wee quacker -so far so good. Strong little guy.

Roger, Birds have an "inconvenient" approach to many things. I watched a falcon couple (via a video feed) sit on eggs. Such a bore. Get that boid a tv set.

dj, Wonderful pics. Bright colors. Love the mules and horses.

Izzie, This response should be on the "What Made You Smile Today" thread. That little ducky did the job. Thanks. The kid's a survivor.
