This was taken in Costa Rica. Does anyone know what kind of bird they are?

@Dutchy,
Dutchy, I'm green with envy that you've got these glorious boids right next door. Sigh.

@Roberta,
They seem to be wanderers, only turn up at certain times of the year, mainly when the Gum trees flower or dropping their nuts.

@Roberta,
Thank you; motmots heh? Their tails are so unusual, I took a whole bunch of picture of those birds.

The Pacific Barreleye fish has a transparent forehead that it looks right through. It's eyes rotate and move independently of each other, and the fish lives off of microbes it steals from jellyfish tendrils.

The bumps in front aren't eyes, they are noses. The eyes are the black and green things in the middle of the head.

I read the story about it and saw a video. It still seems unreal. Here's the link:

Not so mundane, osso. I did a bit of research. Ground squirrels hibernate. Tree squirrels don't. They stay up all winter and find the nuts the ground squirrels buried.

When I was looking up motmots for c.i., I found some amazing birds from Costa Rica. Here's a jacana:
